Chapter 41: Unscheduled Meeting

The taxi took Maya right down the block from the building she was looking for. It was a sleek skyscraper of at least seven stories. The letters at the very top revealed that it could only belong to the man she was looking for since it had his name plastered across it in large silver letters. So much for being inconspicuous, she thought, but then she supposed the average person probably didn’t know that Valentino lived a double life. Those who did, knew he was dangerous.

Maya thanked the driver and paid what she owed the cab before turning and heading into the lobby of the building. A place like this likely had some strict policy on strangers just walking in and demanding to see the boss. So, she was resolved not to even bother with the receptionist. If she had to guess where a big time businessman might be, she would say his office was probably on the top floor. The top floor always held the most importance in these sorts of buildings.
