“Very well. Would you mind filling me in on what Maya discussed with you prior to making the trip here?” Kade questioned. He was as calm as ever, his expression blank while he watched Valentino. 


“First, I want to know where Jamison is. You don’t have him hiding and planning anything, do you?” Valentino countered. The distrust in his tone made itself known for a moment while his gaze darted between the two of them. 


Kade shook his head. “No. Jamison is resting right now. I think you can understand why. So, we’ll be discussing things out here.” He made a gesture to Valentino to continue to answer his question. 


“Alright. Your associate here mentioned you could make me the Chief of this territory in order to help grow and promote my business,” Valentino answered stiffly. 


There was a pause, seemingly so he could choose his words carefully.


“I see. How would making you Chief benefit me?” Kade asked.
