Making A Promise

Lucia was about to answer George's question, when Jennifer cut in, stopping her from speaking. Jennifer had been listening quietly to the interview, occasionally taking notes on her tablet. She had a friendly and professional demeanor, unlike George, who seemed hostile and arrogant.

Jennifer smiled at Lucia, "Lucia, I think we have heard enough. You don't need to answer that question."

George looked surprised and annoyed. He opened his mouth to protest, but Jennifer silenced him with a glare. She turned to Lucia and continued, "Lucia, I want to thank you for your time and interest in working for MK Group. You have impressed me with your skills and qualifications.."

Lucia felt relieved that at least one of them was not trying to kill her dreams. She smiled back at Jennifer, "Thank you, I appreciate your kind words."

Jennifer nodded "We will be in touch soon with our decision. You will receive an email from us if you are accepted for the next round of interviews."

Lucia smiled back and thanked Jennifer again. She gathered her belongings and followed walked to the door.

George wrinkled his nose in annoyance. He watched Lucia leave the room with a smile on her face. He thought to himself, "Does she think I'm a statue? Does she think I have no say in this? Hmph, she's in for a rude awakening."

Outside the door, Lucia clutched her chest as soon as she stepped out letting out a sigh of relief. The first round of her interview was finally over, and now, all she had to do was wait for the results. She could feel the tension slowly leaving her body, making her feel lighter and more at ease.

Lucia walked to the elevator. She pressed the button and waited for the doors to slide open. Stepping in, she looked up to see her reflection on the wall. Seeing her slim figure, she couldn't help but wink at herself, "I look good." she said proudly.

The elevator descended smoothly, stopping at every floor. Lucia hummed a tune in her head, feeling happy. She had always dreamed of working in this building. She'd long admired the people who walked in and out of it every day, wearing suits and carrying briefcases. To Lucia, they looked professional and successful. She wished to be just like them someday.

The elevator reached the ground floor and the doors opened with a ding. Lucia walked out of the elevator and into the lobby. She looked around one last time "One day I will work here." She said it out loud, as if making a promise.

Walking out of the building she stood at the entrance for a little while, shutting her eyes. Allowing the sun warm her face and the wind caress her golden locks. She looked like a breath of fresh air, just standing there. Lucia took a deep breath and exhaled slowly. Opening her eyes she smiled brightly. As she moved ahead, looking for a taxi.

Unbeknownst to her, a man sat in the backseat of his car, patiently waiting outside the building for his upcoming meeting. His attention had been elsewhere until he saw Lucia emerge from the building, and at that moment, he found himself utterly captivated by her beauty.

As Lucia made her way toward the street, his gaze remained fixed on her, unable to tear his eyes away.

"Sir, we're here," the secretary reminded him, breaking his trance. The man in the backseat shifted his gaze from Lucia to the building. His eyes turned sharp and serious.

The secretary quickly got out of the car and opened the door for him. The man stepped out of the car with confidence and authority. He was tall and muscular, with dark hair and piercing eyes. He wore a tailored suit that accentuated his physique.

He marched into the building, followed by his secretary. He didn't look back at Lucia, who had just gotten into a taxi.

Lucia was playing around with her phone, scrolling through her social media feeds and checking her messages. When Suddenly, her phone rang. She looked at the screen and saw that it was her grandma calling. She smiled and picked it up. She called out sweetly, "Grandma, hi! How are you?"

"Lucia, my darling! I'm fine, thank you. How are you? How was your day?" her grandma asked in a cheerful voice
