Lucia's Grandparents

Lucia smiled "Grandma, I'm great! I had an amazing day!

Lucia's Grandma's warm, caring voice responded, "That's great, dear. I'm happy to hear that. But I want to ask you for a favor. I need to take your grandpa to the hospital to get his monthly shots. He's been feeling a bit under the weather lately. I was wondering if you could come to the store and look after it for a while. It shouldn't take long, just an hour or two.

Lucia nodded "Of course, grandma. I'll be happy to help. I'm on my way. Where are you now?"

Lucia held her phone to her ear as her grandma's voice filled the line.

"I'm at the store," Her Grandma said. "I'm waiting for you to arrive before I leave. Your grandpa is in the car. He's ready to go."

"Okay, grandma," Lucia responded. "I'll be there soon. Don't worry about anything. I'll take good care of the store and the customers."

"Thank you, dear," Grandma replied. "You're such a sweetheart. I love you so much."

"I love you too, grandma," Lucia said warmly. "See you soon."

"See you soon, dear. Bye."

Lucia gently placed her phone down, and a soft sigh escaped her lips. She loved her grandparents dearly and wanted them to be healthy and happy.

She told the driver the new location and asked him to hurry up. The cab made its way through the busy streets, dodging traffic and pedestrians. Lucia looked out of the window and watched the city pass by.

Lucia shook her head, attempting to clear her mind. She couldn't help but worry about the next round of interviews, especially after her encounter with the arrogant George. Glancing at her phone, she reflexively refreshed her email, even though she knew it was a little silly to do so right after the interview had ended.

In that moment, it felt like every passing second was an eternity as she waited for that email to arrive.

The cab arrived at the bakery. Lucia paid the driver and thanked him. She got out of the cab and shut the door behind her. She walked towards the store with a spring in her step.

The bakery was a cute and cozy place, with a pink and white sign that read "Grandma's pastries". It was Lucia's grandma's pride and joy. She had opened it when Lucia was a little girl, after retiring from her job as a teacher. She had always loved baking cookies and sharing them with her family and friends. She decided to turn her hobby into a source of income.

The bakery was famous for its delicious and varied pastry, made with fresh ingredients and secret recipes.

Lucia loved the bakery as much as her grandma did.

Lucia stepped into the bakery, a bright smile lighting up her face. The air was rich with the sweet scent of freshly baked cookies. Soft, melodic music played in the background, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

As her eyes roamed the room, they settled on a display of delicious pastries.

Behind the counter, she spotted her grandmother, dressed in a cute apron and a hat, her hands carefully holding a tray of freshly baked cupcakes. Nearby, her grandfather sat in a chair, dressed smartly in a coat and hat, his cane resting beside him.

Lucia's arrival was met with warm, welcoming smiles from her grandparents.

Lucia's Grandpa's eyes sparkled with delight as he saw Lucia enter. "Lucia, my darling! You're here! Come here and give me a hug!"

Lucia's face lit up with an affectionate smile as she hurried to embrace her beloved grandpa. Their hug was warm and heartfelt, and as they released, they shared kisses on each other's cheeks.

"Grandpa, I've missed you so much. I'm so happy to see you!" Lucia exclaimed, her voice brimming with happiness.

Grandpa's eyes twinkled as he looked at his granddaughter. "You look beautiful, dear. I almost couldn't recognize you."

Lucia laughed softly. "Thank you, Grandpa. You don't look too bad yourself. I swear, you've even become younger!"

"Hahaha, you and your sweet words," Lucia's grandpa chuckled, playfully tapping her nose.

Lucia replied, "But it's true, Grandpa."

"Well," he said, "I'll gladly accept that compliment. I could use a little boost right now." As he spoke, he ran his hand through his thinning hair
