A Greedy Risk - Part 5

The villagers had been walking the village streets, ending their day of work, stopping in front of neighbours' houses for a chat. There was a leisureliness to their actions that made them the prime prey. The groups that they gathered in too proved to be advantageous.

When Vol emerged, it was a group of eight women that he ran into first. They looked at him blankly, not seeming to understand. He was big, true, but he hadn't raised his axe yet. It was not until they looked at the blood stains on his armour and clothes that they seemed to realize what was coming for them. Then, the screams began.

Vol was as rough as was to be expected. He didn't want to let a single one of them escape. He rammed the group as one, barrelling them to the floor, and reaching for the rope at his belt, hurriedly tying what he could.
