Fort Karsam - Part 2

Once the elation of victory had faded away, there were few that could refute that fact. They thought upon the previous days with a hint of shame on their faces, but these were prideful men, so that shame never went too far.

"We're better than you give us credit for," one man had stood up and said one day. Vol evaluated his level to be 20 – a better man amongst the dregs to be making such a speech. He did it with a quiet anger, without losing himself to his rage entirely, so at least he was sensible enough in that regard. Vol had to give him credit for that part, at least.

"I have seen no sign of anything otherwise," Vol replied. "Sit down, and only stand up again if you wish to fight me."

He'd cut the man off immediately, with another threat. Begrudgingly, the man had sat down, unable to say anything otherwise, but Vol knew that it wouldn't be the end of the matter.
