"Penelope," Vol said, sensing her gaze.

"Y-yes?" Penelope said, startled.

"Heal them," Vol said, without turning around.

"Yes… Yes, of course..! But Vol..?" Penelope said.

"What?"

"Are we going to win this?" Penelope said. It wasn't hopelessness that directed that question, but the return of hope itself. In Vol's new strength, Penelope inevitably saw it. Even though she had not spent the same time on the battlefield as the rest of them, she had seen Vol train even more than the rest. She was more intimately familiar with his strength than any of them, bar Vol himself, or Pandora.

"We're going to win," Vol said firmly. "Hurry up and get them back on their feet, we're moving forward again."

With that, he dashed away. His targets were simple. They'd been sent to him by General Varn, and they made matters that much easier to solve. It was the Third Boundary men that needed targeting and crushing before any other.
