The noise began to lure some of the other Sea Serpents newcomers that had fallen asleep in their tent into wakefulness. Those that had stayed the entirety of the night awake sighed and stood up, realizing that sleep would evade them until night came the following day. They looked terrible for it, with their skins pale, and the bags visible beneath their eyes. But such was what the fear of battle did to a man, and the veterans were used to seeing it, to the point that even Silverfish didn't comment when there were more interesting things going on, in the form of the breakfast that he sought to acquire.

By the time they had all seen to a degree of breakfast, Ser Crawford's men had gone marching, and Ser Icon's distress was known all throughout camp. The fortification that they had built mattered significantly less when they didn't have the required number of men to hold it.
