By the third stroke, they settled into a rhythm. One that only those above deck could see the results of.

Ratcatcher stood with wide eyes, gripping the side of the ship for dear life. The sudden lurch of speed was almost ridiculous. They cut through the water like a hot knife, vengefully nearing the rear of the ship that was their target.

"W-what the hell is this?" He said. "This is unnatural!"

His men cowered with him, having been forsaken from their posts. Only the strongest among the Sea Serpents had been granted a seat on the rowing benches, and the results were significant. A ship that seemed so far out of their reach before was now a target that they were nearing.

Without the benefits of their sail, and on pure strength alone, they forcefully clawed their way back into reach. Soon enough, their nose was driving right into the rear of the larger ship.
