Oh no.

Damon wasn't alone.

He was in a heated combat with one of those monsters. All by himself.

I didn't know how to help him as I watched him battle the Monster.

He kept sending mini waves of water towards the monster which was slowing it down from reaching him.

I decided to regain full consciousness in order to tell the others. But just before then, I saw the water emitting from Damon's hands change slightly to a whitish solid.

Ice. It was ice.

I opened up my eyes and saw two pairs of eyes staring back at me.

"Cassie? Are you okay? Did you succeed? Did you find any of them? Are you dizzy? " Jake asked me tons of questions at once.

I was trying to get myself back as I started to feel a little bit lightheaded all of a sudden.

"Cassie? Hello?" Madeline waved her hand in front of my face, trying to catch my attention.

"Cassie? Hey...hey say something." Jake started to sound worried.

"I'm.... fine. Just trying to make sense of things." I tried to get up from where I was sitting.

"Whoa, easy. What happened?" Jake asked while trying to help me up.

"I know where they are. Both Phoebe and Damon. But we have to hurry and get to Damon first. He was fighting one of the monsters when I saw him." I explained after I recovered a bit from the shock.

"You saw him? Like are you being serious?" Madeline asked me in disbelief.

"Yeah. I actually did. I saw Phoebe as well." I said proudly.

"No way! How is that even possible?" Madeline was still in denial.

"Where exactly did you see them? Can you remember the direction?" Jake asked.

"Yeah I think so." I looked around trying to recall the route I followed.

"It's that way." I pointed to an entrance close to where we were currently standing.

"Are you sure about that?" Madeline asked.

"Yeah. I think." I say, suddenly unsure myself.

"Great." Madeline said sounding sarcastic.

"I'm sure okay? It's gotta be that way."

"Okay. I trust you Cassie. Let's move. And like you said earlier Madeline, we don't have all day. Right?" Jake said and made his way to the entrance.

"Right." Muttered Madeline.

Madeline looked over to me and I gave her a small smile.

"Come on." She said to me and we joined Jake shortly.

We kept walking for some time until we got to two cross roads.

"Okay wizard. Which way next?" Madeline asked me with folded arms.

What is with her attitude all of a sudden.

"I think it's that way." I pointed to the path to our left.

"Okay.. let's go." Jake didn't waste time and just made his way to that direction.

We followed closely behind.

After some minutes of walking, we finally got to a very familiar place.

This was where Phoebe was having her meditation when I saw her.

"I know this place. Phoebe was here. This is where I saw her." I inspected the surrounding well.

"Well I don't see Phoebe anywhere. So where exactly is she?" Madeline asked me.

"I don't know, but I do know for sure that she was here." I was positive this was the place I saw her.

"If she was here, we would have seen her. Did she suddenly turn invisible?" Madeline commented.

"I know what I saw Madeline. And what is with the passive aggressive remarks." I almost snapped at her.

"What are you getting all angry for? And what passive aggressive remarks are you talking about?" Madeline denied innocently.

"Cassie just relax. And Madeline, could you please stop being a pain." Jake said to both of us.

Madeline just rolled her eyes.

While we were talking, we didn't hear the footsteps approaching until it was too close.

"Guys?!" Phoebe almost screamed with relief.

As a reflex action, Jake's hand suddenly lit up with a fire blazing sword 🗡️ in place.

Madeline's eyes turned green in ready for attack.

And I just hid behind Jake.

Shielding myself from harm.

"Whao guys, slow down. It's just me." Phoebe said with her two hands up in surrender.

"Prove it." Said Madeline.

"Um... how?" Phoebe asked.

"Where did you just come from?" I asked her.

"I was right here meditating then a few minutes after I left, I heard voices coming from here. Had to turn back to check it out." Phoebe explained.

"She's telling the truth." I said In agreement.

"So you have the ability to tell when people are lying or not now?" Madeline asked and rolled her eyes.

"I did tell you I saw her earlier didn't I? And she was indeed mediating when I saw her." I cleared myself.

"You saw me? How and From where?" Phoebe asked me.

"Well it's complicated. I sort of used my powers to find you." I said trying not to sound too excited it.

"You saw me using your powers? That's officially the coolest thing I've ever heard." Phoebe seemed pretty excited about it.

"Yeah ok. See we've established the fact that you're you. We should go find Damon next, and get this over with." Madeline said to us.

"She's right. We shouldn't waste more time." Jake supported her.

I nodded in agreement.

Our next stop was exactly the location I saw Damon.

Although we didn't see him there, there was traces of water littered all over the ground.

"Well...I guess he's gone." Madeline remarked.

"Do you think something happened to him?" I asked Jake.

"No. Remember this whole thing we're doing isn't real, he'll be fine." Jake replied.

"Let me check if I can hear him. You all should be quiet." Phoebe said to us.

She immediately closed her eyes and tucked some of the hair covering her face behind her ears.

The rest of us remained as silent as we can.

"Wait...I hear something. He's close... Very close, Come on this way." Phoebe lead the way and we followed her closely.

When we got to Damon, he was battling with another one of those monsters.

Jake quickly conjured up a fire ball and threw it towards the monster, which made it screech in pain.

The monster changed direction and was coming our way now.

But suddenly it's leg got stuck on the ground. It tried moving forward but it couldn't.

I shut a look at Madeline and saw she was responsible for it.

She somehow sealed the monster's feet to the ground.

"Nice" Jake said to her and she smiled at him.

I looked away from them feeling a little bit jealous.

"I got this." Damon went closer to the monster to finish it off.

He conjured up water, but it took a form of a blade and he sent it flying towards the heart of the monster.

The monster disappeared immediately, fading like a bad connection break.

"Okay. That just made it two monsters I just took down." Damon said proudly.

"Seriously? I literally just played a big role in taking this one down." Madeline said and rolled her eyes.

"Right. But I still got the kill so.." Damon shrugged.

"No one is keeping counts here. Get over yourself." Jake said to Damon.

"Why? How many did you kill?" Damon asked Jake but he only shook his head in response.

"I see. None." Damon said and chuckled.

"How many more do we need to kill exactly before we can get the hell out of here?" Phoebe asked.

"A few more I guess." Jake replied.

"Okay...so here's how it's going to be, I'll try to listen and see if I'll hear some of the monsters, then we'll go for the kill. As a TEAM." Phoebe emphasized on the last part while giving Damon a look.

Damon just chuckled slightly.

"And who made YOU team leader?" Madeline asked.

"Do you have a better plan on how to track down these things? Then Please let's hear em." Phoebe replied.

"Actually I do. Cassie is the better plan. She's now literally a live working GPS, what more could we ask for?" Madeline said to them.

"A GPS? How do you mean?" Damon asked looking right at me.

"Um...I..." I was about to say something,

"She's the one that found out where you were.." but Madeline cut me off.

"Technically, that was me." Phoebe added.

"Technically, I don't care." Madeline fired.

"What Madeline meant to say was I used my powers to find your location at first. But then you've already moved away when we got there. Since you were close enough, Phoebe used her hearing to find you. Again." I explained to Damon.

"Right. That's pretty cool. So you've finally figured out your powers." Damon said and smirked at me.

I simply nodded.

"Are we done with the chitchat yet or what.... Phoebe let's get to work. We'll go with your plan. Let's take down atleast 5 of those things and get the hell outta here." Jake said aloud.

"Alright then." Phoebe replied.

She quickly got into the listening mode.

We managed to catch and kill two more of those monsters, which left us just to one remaining.

"I vote we let Cassie have the last kill. I really want to see how her powers work. If it also has an offense side and not just the defense." Damon said.

"Are you crazy? We do this together." Jake replied him.

"I know. But hey, we all know how each of our powers work when it comes to defending ourselves. But what does she know about defending herself. Is her mind magic really enough in stopping incoming quick attacks? I'm very curious." Damon said looking at me.

"Now isn't the time for that. She can learn that during Normal defense classes. Right now, we just wanna end this quickly and go back to our dorms." Jake replied him.

How can these two act like I'm not here and can't hear them.

I just kept quiet and listened to them banter around.

"What do you mean not the right time. There is no right time. She needs to be in total control of her powers." Damon argued.

"Can you guys just stop. I don't know about you all but I really want to get outta here, I'm tired and hungry. And I wanna go back to my dorm and take a nap!" Madeline added sounding pretty annoyed.

Hell even I was annoyed as well. And I'm really hungry too.

"Madeline's right. We should hurry up and get out of here." I supported her.

"Fine. Your decision princess." Damon said to me.

I saw Jake shake his head from the side of my eyes.

"I'm not a princess." I said to Damon.

He just smirked at me.

"Okay. Phoebe, do your thing." Jake said to her.

After struggling and successfully taking down the last monster.....we headed out to the fields to give a report of the task.

Damon bragged about killing more monsters than we did, but none of us took it seriously.

I suddenly remembered what I saw Damon do earlier.

"Hey, I just remembered, I didn't know people with water magic could make ice as well. That was really cool." I said to Damon when I was standing close to him.

"What?" He asked innocently.

"The ice thing you did with that monster? I saw you remember?" I said to him.

"Right. Umm.... Cassie, I have to ask you for something." He tone turned serious all of a sudden.

"What?"

"Don't tell anyone about that. What you just said you saw me do. Don't tell anyone about it." He said to me.

"Okay? But why not? Is it supposed to be a secret or something?" I asked him with a small smile plastered on my face.

But I saw how serious he looked and wiped the smile off quickly.

"Oh. Ohh.... okay. Ofcourse, I won't tell anyone." I said to him after realizing he was serious.

"Thank you. You should go back to your dorm and get some rest." He said and walked away from me before I could even say something back.

Okay. Weird.
