Chapter 29: Entertain Me

Elanor felt the claws against her neck before suddenly, her body was moving. No—! Wait—it wasn’t her who was moving.

Someone grabbed her collar, throwing her back, away from Zukon’s claws and she crashed to the floor from the force of it, staring at the ceiling, eyes wide as she tried to process what happened.

She hadn’t moved.

Azzoth HAD.

Shakily, she turned her head, taking in the sight before her.

Zukon was staring down Azzoth who stood there, tense, not saying anything, not defending himself from what he did.

“To think that you’d get in my way,” Zukon mused. “The General of Pride, my most loyal, most honorable soldier, has waylaid my decision, and for that.” He glanced at her, flicking red droplets off of his nails and she reached up with a trembling hand, her neck stinging from the cuts he left. He really had almost killed her, would’ve if Azzoth hadn’t move.
