Chapter 11: Chapter Eleven

*Jonathan’s POV*

She glares at me with an unspeakable intensity before eyeing me again. I can’t believe I’ve goofed the mission this hard. Sure, I kept my under cover operation a complete secret for quite a while, but everything had turned upside down and backwards in a matter of minutes, and now everything I was working for was in the balance, being judged by a woman whose heart I broke years ago.

In layman’s terms, I was screwed.

She keeps staring at me, as if she were trying to read my mind to see if I was lying to her. After a solid minute of silence, she points at me accusatorily.

“Full disclosure. No holding back. You had better explain absolutely everything until I am satisfied, or else,” she threatens. “And I reserve the right to out you to the family if I feel even the slightest hesitation from you.”
