A threat to the North and False Gods being worshiped in plain sight part 1.

Ragnar POV :

We finally arrived at the island of Cadmre or Dragon's Roar as it called now, and it was nothing like I expected.

I was expecting to see a deserted island, but what I saw was a grand valarian military naval stronghold.

The streets were filled with people,

either selling something or the other or busy constructing something , road works, housing projects, and something that looked like sewage pipelines being constructed overall. The entire island was bubbling with activities in some form or another. The people had smiles on their faces, and when you meet them for the first time, you would never know that all of them are former slaves who had been liberated by their lord just a few months ago. What really got my attention was the strange sigil that everyone had tattooed on their arms a sigil, which looked like a dragon roaring and breathing fire at the skies. On asking about it from the locals, I came to know that on the day of the miracle, when the high priestess Ayaka prayed for them and the Gods blessed them and healed all of them their slave crests magically transformed into this tattoo.

For them this was the symbol of their new life and the fact that they are the subjects of Dragoneel, proud citizens of Valhalla and they will never bow to anyone ever again and they will never be slaves ever again.

The amount of love that the people had for their ruler was shocking for me, but was reassuring at the same time as well.

I was nervous about coming here just because of my dreams and the command of the old gods, and I was worried about how these new Dragon lords will be? But seeing the love and admiration of the people for them strangely made me feel at ease at the very least they do not seem like crazy psychotic tyrants like the Targaryens, I said to myself.

On further enquiry I got to know that the High priestess of the Sanctum of Dragoneel lady Ayaka is Elijah' s sister and that she is usually available at the Sanctum either praying with the masses or educating them or healing them.

A princess who chose to be a priestess, then an educator, and healer for her people , she had piqued my interest, to say the least.

I decided on a whim to visit the Sanctum first before the castle as I wanted to see her for myself.

When I saw her for the first time teaching her people, I had fallen in love at first sight.

Ayaka Dragoneel stood there amongst her people, teaching them how to read and write.

Dressed in a white dress enamored with red runic lines, which clearly joined to form the sigil of her house, her long silver hair and her purple eyes, the way she radiated love for the common folk made her look as if a goddess herself has chosen to decend down the heaven to take care of her people. Her beauty, there were no words to describe it, and the way she was commanded complete respect, and I just stood there gawking at her.

" I know that I am beautiful, my lord, but if you keep staring like that, a fly will definitely enter your mouth," Ayaka joked, looking at the loevstruck fool in front of her.

" Ah, aye, apologies, Highness," Ragnar tried to say something desperately.

" No apologies needed, my lord" Ayaka replied to the love struck fool.

" Pardon me, my lord, but I haven't seen you here before? Have you come here seeking an audience with my brother ? " Ayaka asked to the man.

" Indeed, lady Ayaka, let me introduce myself

I am Ragnar Stark , son of Jonathan Stark the current leader of the company of rose from Esos. " Ragnar said, introducing himself.

" You forgot to add champion of the old gods in your introduction, Lord Ragnar," Ayaka casually replied.

" Forgive me, my lady , but I am still trying to get used to being the champion of the old gods myself, and that's why I did not mention that " Ragnar clarified.

" Though might I ask how did you know of my status as the champion of the old gods I believe this is the first time that we have ever met each other. " Ragnar asked.

" Simple you give off a similar feeling like my brother, and you are not the first champion that I have met other than my brother as well.

Lord Jaqen, who is bethroed to my aunt Lady Medina, is the champion of the many faced God, and he is very good friends with my brother. " Ayaka casually replied back .

" So I suppose you want me to escort you and your party to my brother for an audience?" Ayaka asked.

" That would really be helpful of you my lady."

Ragnar said with a smile.
