The Twins

The next day, Amden, accompanied by Cilia, set out for the site. It was an hour's drive north of Azalia Town from the villa.

Upon arrival, they found a man named Lexicon Lionhart waiting for them.

Aside from the members of the Vantistart family, Lexicon held the highest authority in the Vantistart Consortium.

Lexicon was an orphan and when he had been a teenager, Lexicon had, fortunately, encountered Dramon.

Dramon, feeling sympathy for the orphan child took in Lexicon. He then along with Rexon were raised by Clara and Dramon.

Growing up alongside Rexon, the two were like brothers. Rexon trusted Lexicon with his life, and Amden had no doubts about his loyalty either.

As soon as Amden arrived, Lexicon stepped forward to greet him.

"Welcome, young master. We've completed all the preparations. We just need your instructions," Lexicon reported.

Amden and Lexicon then discussed the villa's design, with Cilia occasionally giving her inputs.

Eventually, Amden declared confidently, "This villa will serve as a symbol of prestige and strength for our Vantistart Consortium."

After a few hours of discussion, they finalized the plans.

Lexicon assured him, "Within seven days, we will complete the entire complex."

Satisfied, Amden nodded in approval before departing from the site.

The use of spiritual energy had significantly accelerated construction processes. Earth-element warriors were typically employed for such projects, ensuring swift and efficient work. With Lexicon personally overseeing the development, there was no doubt that the villa would meet Amden's grand expectations.

As usual, Amden took the passenger seat while Cilia drove them back to the villa.

On the way, Amden suddenly suggested, "Cilia, why don't we go out for lunch?"

Cilia responded with her characteristic restraint, "As you wish, young master."

Amden had long grown accustomed to her reserved nature. While she was a fierce and fearsome lady when dealing with the outsiders, in front of Amden she acted stiff.

Despite his many attempts to encourage her to be more open, she remained as composed as ever.

Soon, they arrived at one of the city's most luxurious restaurants. Amden reserved a private room for them, and they enjoyed their meal together.

During the meal, Cilia grew noticeably shy, her face turning as red as a tomato. Though she dined with Amden every day, she couldn't help but wonder if this could be considered something like their first date.

Amden easily guessed what was on her mind but chose not to tease her. He could only feel amusement at the train of thoughts running inside Cilia's mind.

After finishing their meal, Amden stepped outside the restaurant. He was to step inside the car but his attention was immediately drawn to a skinny boy in tattered clothes.

The garments of the boy were stitched together in several places and he was a pale and skinny fellow. The boy was sneaking out of a medicinal shop.

This particular shop specialized in pills for non-awakened individuals—people without spiritual energy.

Amden instantly realized that the boy had 'stolen' something and was attempting to slip away unnoticed. What intrigued him was the fact that, despite being an ordinary person, the boy had managed to infiltrate a cultivator-run shop—a remarkable feat.

The sight of the boy stirred memories of Amden's past life, where he too had struggled.

He did not know why, but Amden silently followed the boy, with Cilia trailing behind him. Though confused, she refrained from asking questions.

After a few minutes of walking, the boy reached a slum area and turned into a small alley.

Suddenly, three muscular men who had been standing in the alley blocked his path.

Though they were ordinary people without spiritual energy, their physical condition was formidable. They had bulky, massive and powerful bodies.

The man in the middle grinned and sneered, "Lucas, it looks like you've gotten your hands on something valuable."

Lucas frowned. He recognized the men but never had any association with them. It didn't take him long to realize that the men had figured out that he had stolen something precious.

"It's none of your business," Lucas snapped, attempting to move past them. However, they refused to let him go and stood blocking his way.

Lucas immediately sensed the danger and he realised that he had no other option but to fight.

And hence he didn't hesitate. He made a quick movement and lunged forward. Though his movements were clumsy, he fought with ferocity.

The three men were caught off guard but quickly took defensive stances. Despite their efforts, Lucas overpowered them, knocking them to the ground within moments.

For a pale and skinny man like Lucas to overpower these 3 bulky men was an astonishing face. Amden and Cilia who had been following Lucas till now were pleasantly surprised.

As he turned to flee, one of the men called after him, "Lucas, you know our boss is an F-Rank awakened. Give us the pill and bring back two more, and we'll forget this ever happened. Otherwise… hehe…"

Lucas hesitated for a moment but kept running. He knew he was no match for an awakened individual, yet stopping wasn't an option.

Someone was waiting for him.

Amden continued following Lucas until they arrived at a dilapidated house on the verge of collapse. Lucas entered, revealing a frail girl lying on a bed inside. She was even more skinny and thin than Lucas and her body seemed entirely weak.

She bore a striking resemblance to him— and it did not need a genius to realize that they were twins.

Without a second thought, Lucas carefully pushed the pill in his sister's mouth.

The girl weakly opened her eyes as she felt the 'foreign energy' coursing through her body and murmured, "Brother, how did you get this?"

Lucas didn't answer. He simply stroked her head in reassurance.

At that moment, Amden and Cilia stepped into the room. Sensing their presence, Lucas immediately tensed. Instinctively, he positioned himself in front of his sister, his expression wary.

He assumed the shop owner had sent them, and if that were the case, he knew there was little he could do to protect himself or his sister now.
