In Amden's presence, Lucas remained extremely alert, his mind racing as he sought any way to save his sister from the fate that loomed over her. He did not care what happened to him as long as he could get his sister to safety.
But deep in his heart, Lucas knew that it was not possible. Even if he is able to rescue her sister today, without him she would hardly survive more than few days.
Amden couldn't help but feel a twinge of emotion watching Lucas fiercely protect her.
'Family…' was the word that echoed in his mind.
Finally, Amden spoke in a calm voice, "Don't worry, Lucas. I'm not here to harm you. Even as an ordinary person, your strength is remarkable."
He sighed sadly, "But it is just unfortunate that this single pill would not be enough to save your sister's life."
At these words, Lucas's face turned pale. Though he already knew the pill was insufficient, hearing it confirmed his worst fears.
"Join me. I will give you the opportunity to change your life," Amden continued, "I'll show you how to gain strength, and I'll cure your sister."
Lucas asked cautiously, "Will you take care of my sister?"
With a gentle smile, Amden shook his head and replied, "No, I will only cure her. Like you, I'll teach her how to become strong. In this world, only the strong have rights and privileges—don't expect someone else to care for you."
Lucas's expression hardened but his sister's voice drew his attention.
"Brother, I want to be strong too. I don't want to be a burden," she mumbled weakly.
Lucas' expression changed but he ultimately made his decision.
Though he harbored doubts about Amden, he knew that nothing comes without a price.
His sister further interjected, "Brother, I believe he is honest man and isn't deceiving us. We should trust him."
Luna, aware of how much of a burden she had become for Lucas, could barely move. Yet, faced with this opportunity, she wasn't willing to let it slip away. Despite her own uncertainties, she sensed that their lives were about to change.
Finally, Lucas declared, "If you truly cure my sister, I'll work for you and do whatever you ask."
Then, his tone turned fierce as he added, "But if you harm her, even if it costs me my life, I will have my revenge."
Amden nodded and said simply, "Take whatever is important to you. We're leaving now."
Lucas circled around and retrieved a family photo—a picture of their parents with two babies, likely the only treasured memento they had.
With Lucas supporting Luna, the four of them exited the rundown house.
As soon as they had walked outside of the house, a small commotion greeted them: a group had gathered at the front.
Among the crowd, Amden recognized the three men Lucas had beaten earlier. Along with them was another man- their leader and an F-Rank awakened.
He smirked as he eyed Lucas and sneered, "You've got quite the guts, boy. And it seems you have some rich friends," and his gaze roamed lasciviously over Cilia.
Having the understanding of a frog struck in well, the man failed to recognise that these two people in front of him were probably a million times more out of their league.
Amden continued walking without any reaction and unperturbed at a leisurely pace.
The man turned infuriated and angry at being blatantly ignored in front of his subordinates.
The leader raised his fist and attempted to punch Amden in the gut. Before the punch could land, Amden caught the man by his throat, lifted him effortlessly with his legs dangling in mid air, and threw him aside like a sack.
Throughout the encounter, Amden's stride never faltered, nor did he utter a single word. His reaction remained unchanged the entire time.
Even after dispatching the man, Amden continued on his path. His overwhelming strength caused the rest of the group to panic and they fled.
Lucas who had witnessed all this was surprised. He had known of 'powerful people' out there but he never expected that the man who had offered to save his life would be so powerful to throw a F Rank like this.
Before long, they arrived at the luxurious car which Amden and Cilia had left near the restaurant.
Lucas and Luna stared in disbelief—they could hardly believe they were about to ride in such a luxury thing.
Amden chuckled at their expressions and said, "You can take as many as you want."
These words came another shock for Luna and Lucas. 'Take as many as we want', they hardly had ever had a full meal.
Inside the car, Lucas and Luna sat stiffly at first, worried about soiling the costly interior.
Amden noticed their discomfort but remained silent. He understood that they needed time to adjust.
After few minutes, the twins relaxed, and Luna began to enjoy the beautiful view outside.
They eventually reached the villa complex, where Dramon and rest awaited at the manor. Amden introduced the twins and recounted their story. The Vantistart family was very receptive of the twins and welcomed the duo with warmth.
Clara looked lovingly at Luna, saying, "Such a cute child. Don't worry; everything will be fine now."
Dramon smiled and nodded in agreement. Their presence and reassurances helped Lucas feel more safe and secure.
Dramon then said, "Amden, we should send Luna to the hospital immediately. Her treatment can't be delayed any longer."
Amden looked at them and shook his head in denial, "She doesn't need hospital care or medical pills—they won't cure her."
He added further, "In truth, she has a very special condition."
