Encounter 8: Messenger

Entry #02999

My bed is always messy every time the examination days are coming up.

"Now, what to review first..." ...overwhelmed by seeing the books, papers, notes, and pens.

"How surprising," Jesse commented. "I don't know you study."

I glared at him. "I hate studying but I have to. I need to secure a bright future."

He nodded in agreement. His sad face made me regret saying the word 'future' after. 'It is no longer within his reach.'

He stayed silent and gave me time to study.

While reading a book, I saw him through my peripheral vision, picking up my journal for my ghostly encounters (this notebook). I grabbed it away before he could open it.

"Don't read this."

"Are you hiding terrible secrets there?" he mocked.

I shook my head. "Embarrassing things," I corrected him.

"Oh, that is what you call them, huh? But I read its contents while you were asleep before. I would like to read those new ghostly experiences you have written recently."

I rolled my eyes. Such a curious ghost. "I won't let you read them this time."

"I will still read it when you are not aware. Even if you hide it, lock it somewhere, I can still find it. Remember, I can pass through surfaces."

'He is smiling. He is mocking me!'

"Fine!" I gave up. "You may read it." I tossed the notebook to him.

"Thanks."

The curve on his lips did not leave until he finished reading. He smirked at me when he caught me staring.

'I know. I am supposed to be studying right now but this guy is a distraction. He is so clingy recently.'

"Did you enjoy seeing the view?"

"What?"

"The view of a handsome guy reading."

I frowned even more. "No. I am just thinking how weird you are."

"You are also weird. You know."

"Yes."

"Then, we suit each other."

I shook my head in disbelief. 'He is getting worse.'

"Eddie, may I write an entry here?"

'What is he thinking for doing that?'

"It is for encounters with ghosts."

"I am a ghost. You encountered me. Me, writing here is reasonable enough."

"It is personally mine."

"I am also yours."

'Making me speechless without a warning. I give up.'
