"Alora Silver, please come up to the podium and collect your certificate in psycholinguistics." Principal Jocasta Miller announced and a round of applause welcomed Alora to the stage.
"Thank you, Miss Miller." She said and collected the mic from her. "And thank you, teachers and my fellow students for your unending help and support during my academic endeavors in this educational establishment."
Her eyes met Austin, who was hiding in the crowd. "Thank you, my friends, family and those people who I hold dear to my heart. As I move on with my journey of life, I hope that the knowledge that I have acquired from this university can aid me as I grow older."
"It is an honor to gain this certificate and I am proud of it and as I resume my endless quest for wisdom, I thank you all for being here, on the most important day for a college graduate."
She smiled and a loud applause consumed every other sound. Just them, Sean walked up to the stage and held up his phone. Silence consumed the room as he whispered to the MC.
He was going to expose her affair with the famous mafia boss. A video was about to play on the large screen in the huge hall when someone shot it with an arrow.
Another arrow shot Sean's phone right out of his hand. Everyone ignored Sean and rejoiced with Alora and fellow graduates. When she was done, she met Austin standing in a corner far from everyone else, waiting for her.
"You were great, Lora." He wrapped his hands around her waist.
"Mm-hh." She saw a bow and a couple of arrows. "So, you shot Sean's phone, right?"
"Yes, I couldn't let anyone watch that."
"Whatever was on his phone was surely important."
"It was but you don't want to know. Should we take the kids out to celebrate?"
"No, I have to pack my bags." She said with a sad look.
"Why? Are you going somewhere?"
"Yes, I was going to Paris to live with my uncle. Didn't I tell you?"
"You never did. When are you going?"
"Soon. But I want to trust you." She sat on a plastic chair.
"You can trust me, Alora."
"When I'm gone, please take care of my family. You said I can trust you. Well, I am trusting you to watch out for them." She folded her hands in her lap. "Can you do that for me?"
"Of course I can." He assured her. "Why don't I drop you home?"
"That will be great."
