"That's true their brainwashing is seeping into their brains which is also the reason they die while sacrificing themselves for these stupid beliefs."
"And because of that, they were able to make that weapon. For now, we need to destroy it and not let my student get in any more trouble."
"True that weapon can release curse energy albeit a weakened version of it, still he is lucky we came here on time if not he would be fighting these guys and not just two."
"Yeah, but let's keep this a secret for now we need to act like we just arrived."
"Okay, whatever suits your fancy, I guess."
But just as they were to go down, they saw Jayven burning the Halberd.
"Eh?"
"Wait isn't that what he did with the knife from the other guy?"
"So, the ability of the cursed artifact he has is burning objects?"
"I don't know but this solves the problem, right?"
"But what should we do about his cursed artifact?"
"No worries we can just tell that we gave it to him and apply for it when we get back no one will question it's ownership by then."
"I guess that's true it's not like it is strange to own a cursed artifact even the Twelve of you have one as well as certain individuals."
"Well then let's leave."
"Are you not going to meet him?"
"Let's do that at home where it's comfortable."
"Sure."
~~~~~~Back to Jayven and Everyone~~~~~~
After everything was over, Jayven realized he could melt the weapon, so he tried it with the halberd. And with a thought recreation happened and the weapon became part of Phenex.
"Good with this I can take it out if I want to with a cost that is."
Jayven said as he looked at the incinerated weapon. But there is a reason for this action.
'It is better to do this because everyone sees its ability so I can't let them know that I have it. It is just a hunch but this weapon might be dangerous to have but from what it can do it can do even more.'
With that, he headed to everyone and checked up on how they were doing.
Currently, all the civilians and hunters are huddled together to do their own thing as the alchemists distribute food and water along with some medication.
And during their time resting the leader of the group walked towards the woman who seemed to be his lover.
"This wouldn't have been possible without him."
"I'm sorry as well. I wasn't able to do anything for you."
Being together the two told each other how they felt during this ordeal.
"Don't worry I was the one to tell you to be quiet if not you would be the one, they would target."
"But still, if it weren't for us, you wouldn't have been in this serious situation and you might still be hunting monsters with your team outside the city."
Seeing her like that he felt sad. But knowing this situation was unavoidable he tried to comfort her.
"You are wrong, on the contrary, I think I am quite lucky."
"What do you mean?"
"Think about it. What would I do if something happened to you? I would be stuck outside waiting for the news of your unguaranteed. But here I am sacrificing myself to help these people isn't this a better outcome?"
"Dummy. Please be careful next time. She said as she hit his chest multiple times as she cried."
"It's okay, it's okay. I'm here."
Moments later the two were silent and the woman took something out of her purse and showed it to him.
"Here, I was supposed to show this to you earlier but this happened so I don't care about the timing anymore."
Seeing what she had shown, shocked him beyond measure. And look at her straight in her eyes and ask.
"No way, is this for real?"
She then nodded and the two hugged each other happily.
As for Jayven, he got near the officer who helped and asked for his condition. Knowing he was in a precarious situation,
"Hey Sir, are you okay?"
"Yeah, the wounds are a little deep. But my colleagues are different though."
He said looking at the bodies behind him and seeing from their uniform they might have been government officials.
But wanting him to feel alright he said his thoughts and possibilities.
"Don't worry sir they might still be alive and are just not conscious."
"I hope so too kid. But playing dead while they massacred my teammates was the worst thing I could have ever done."
"I see so you were bidding your time off caught them off guard."
"Yeah, but the result is that they were all massacred. So, there is no reason for you to comfort me since I have seen it, all happen."
"I understand Sir, for now, you need some rest, here take this potion, although we can't take care of the contamination done by them, we can heal some of your wounds first."
"Thank you."
Drinking it the officer was surprised by the taste and effect of the potion.
"Isn't this a high-grade potion? You shouldn't have."
"It's okay it is a small price to pay for our lives."
Explaining himself Jayven talked with the officers as well as went on checking everyone's condition. Hours had passed by and the rescue team arrived.
Upon their arrival, they took action and took care of the civilians and they also explained the reason for their late response.
Apparently, due to the attack of demon activists throughout the city, they didn't realize the events that transpired in the park.
From the looks of it, the information was blocked and everyone couldn't go in due to the natural barricade that the dungeon produced as it started to form.
If it wasn't for them sending an SOS then it would be a day later before they could respond. And they were only this late to respond due to the possibility of it being fake since it also occurred in other places.
"Well as long as everyone is okay that's good enough for now, we need to get everyone to safety we aren't in the best condition either."
"Okay, also to the hunters here thank you for reaching out to them."
"No worries it's our pleasure."
With that everyone was then sent to the ambulance as for the officer he said he would wait till everyone got in first. But knowing his situation they tried to persuade him to go in the first batch.
"Sir, please stop being so stubborn."
"Sorry, but I just want to see them safe. That's all."
Seeing his stubbornness, the rescue had no choice but to look after him and examine his current state on the spot to lessen any defects in his body.
Moments later everyone got into the ambulance and was sent to the hospital which also included the official and Jayven since he was also beaten up very badly which was said by the people who were watching him.
And to their surprise, the leader of the civilian, impromptu protection team and the officer were in the same ward as Jayven. So to pass the time the three started to talk to each other.
"Didn't expect to see you guys here."
"Same for me as well I am quite surprised."
"He-he, Thanks to you people I got to know about the great news today."
"Oh, what is it?"
Curious about the news he was about to say they asked what it was.
"I am going to be a father."
"Oh, good for you leader."
"Hey, don't call me that you are more fitting for the role nonsense you led as well.
Embarrassed by Jayven's sudden words he retorts back by saying he was more fit to be one. And seeing this the officer was curious about what happened to them inside a dungeon.
"Congratulations I also have a family so I understand how you felt. And Although I don't know what happened in the dungeon I guess you guys experience a dangerous situation as well."
"Yeah, that's right."
As they were we were talking the door from the ward suddenly opened and an old man entered.
'Hmm? This old man seems familiar.' Noticing the features of the old man Jayven thought of where he met him.
"Son, are you okay? Look at what happened to you boy."
"I'm okay Dad."
Realizing that it was the officer's dad the two greeted him which he also relied back.
"You had your wife worried sick if I wasn't there who knows what could have happened to her when she heard the news."
"Really? I am so sorry I should have taken a leave for her checkup."
Worried about his wife the Officer got guilty but then another old man entered and comforted him.
"No worries now, she is alright it's just your old man being over dramatic."
"What did you say?"
"Uncle, thank you for visiting."
"Hurry up and get healed my niece almost lost a child because of you."
"I'm sorry."
