Through the Embassy

The three rushed their way to the third stairs, which was the closest to them.

They came across the door with a big three, reminding Peter of his days at the orphanage.

They opened the door, and the stairs were stationed upward by a lot.

"Um, did your phone track this?" Xavier muttered to Vienne. She shook her head.

"Well, let's go…" she silently said and it was less dramatic this time.

They put their first step on the stairs.

Then the second, then third.

Then fourth.

Then came a very long walk, which they didn't even notice the height they were.

When Peter looked down, he let out a little shriek which seemed to stop the senseless walking.

"What?" Xavier asked, rushing down Peter's level. They looked down, finding themselves about hundred and thirty feet from the ground.

"Oh my, how did this happen?" Vienne asked, covering her mouth stunned.

Xavier scoffed. "What do you think?" he said, smoothing her shoulder.

Peter found their romantic touching unpleasant and disturbing.

"Let's move on, shall we," he said, breaking through them.

They seemed confused at his repugnance, but they followed anyway. They were near the top, and the door to the fifth floor was revealed.

"Alright, let's go," Vienne ordered, standing by the side of the door.

They got their pistols out, expecting to find themselves in a shootout.

"Okay, from my phone, there are a lot of people here, so Xavier—guard Peter."

He nodded.

"So, if you see any place of escape, just run there, we'll follow."

Peter nodded.

"Okay—let's go," she said, as she kicked the door and targeted her gun.

But no one was there.

It was an empty parking lot, with no vehicles but an elevator. They put down their firearms which Xavier disappointedly complained, "Where are the Ikes?"

Asiris opened the door into a hall, which had many doors to the side, which was also empty too. "Where are all the guards?" Caville asked, pointing her gun and scouting all the sides.

Asiris on the other hand, lowered his and Micah's gun. "They're not here," he said.

Caville looked at him in disbelief. "Well, they have to be somewhere."

"I don't know, it was possibly abandoned or something," he said, touching the walls. There was no dust but he still stood strong on his point.

She finally hauled down her weapon, peeking by the sides.

But, she noticed something that was peculiar in the walls, or just the walls themselves. "They're ricocheted walls," she said, looking at Asiris in surprise. Knowing his experience in ricocheting walls, there is always a turret. And right when he found out, he heard a whirring sound and the turret was right behind him. "Run!" he shouted in panic.

The three started running, as the bullets sprayed through the room.

"Of course, that's why no one is here!" he shouted, dragging Micah with him.

Caville got an idea through the agitation which she even impressed herself with. "We need to split up, I'll find an escape. You need to keep him safe."

They decamped away from each other, as Caville hustled through the halls.

Where could she find an escape? They already locked the door they just came out of, so that wasn't an option.

But, she couldn't even think clearly because she was busily dodging bullets that jumped like frogs.

Then she figured it out—the windows! They could jump out and escape from the bullets.

"Asiris and Micah, follow me!" she shouted.

"Okay!" they shouted, as they spotted their eyes on her.

She had to lead them to safety, especially Micah. So with all the strength she had, she jumped on the wall, then leaped towards the ground.

It'll lead them away for a while.

She now traveled to the windows, bringing out her gun and pulling the trigger so hard, it hurt her finger.

Crash* The windows shattered, as she and the other two jumped out from the window.

Luckily there was a little turf on the roof, so they found themselves collapsing there.

Hyperventilating, Caville tried moving her body to find Asiris, which he was keeping Micah safe in his arms.

The three were walking through the empty halls, now fully retreating their weapons.

"Are you sure this GPS is up to date?" Xavier asked Vienne.

She shrugged, not being sure anymore. They entered another elevator, peacefully making their way to the top.

"So, how are you guys doing?" Peter asked, which Xavier shrugged.

"Depends."

The silence was filling in the room, giving a sense of awkwardness Peter felt he needed to stop.

"Look, sorry what happened to you three years ago," he said—immediately embarrassed of what he said.

"No worries, I deserved it," he said, sighing. "All that matters now is to save the world."

Peter quickly sensed a meaning to this mission, especially to him.

"You're trying to overthrow the embarrassment with this mission."

Xavier stretched over to Peter. "You are really good at deducting things. Just a little slip and you already know the whole story."

"Thanks?"

"But, yes—instead of being the person that almost killed the prince, I would be in many folklore about our great adventures. We'll be worshiped, adored, and no one will know about that discomfiture."

Peter nodded, understanding his position. "Well, if we work together—maybe that can be a possibility." Before they could even exchange smiles, the door opened.

They were at the top, looking at a big helicopter with miniguns by the side.

"Dang, this is what I'm talking about!!" he shouted, running over to the beauty.

The rest started snickering a bit, as they met with Xavier by the helicopter. There was also a big H under it, which was what Asiris was predicting.

But, something else was of interest—and it wasn't good at all.

"Guys," Vienne called, filled with shock in her voice. "I know why they're not here."

She swished her face back to them, looking at the curiosity in the boys.

"They're leaving the embassy."
