Camp Time

Micah was walking around, seeing the people in the camp as they continued to talk amongst themselves.

They seemed to be happy, laughing, smiling—as if there wasn’t a war.

As if there was peace amongst the lands, and that everyone was happy.

He sure didn’t feel the same way, and he was quite ashamed of the feeling.

He continued to walk around until he got a bit tired for some reason, so he found a log to sit on to rest himself.

Sitting on the log was very uncomfortable, but he persisted anyway.

He continued to look around and see the chatting people.

Then suddenly, someone said, “Hey, Micah.”

Micah was startled and immediately jumped, which made Vienne chuckle a bit.

He calmed down eventually when he saw it was her, so he made some space for her to sit down on the log.

She seemed to be relaxed towards the rough texture, which surprised Micah a lot.

“So, how are you?” she asked, while giving a very bright smile.

Micah could see why Vienne liked him.
