"Kisara and Uneri aren't back yet," Koyuki whispered. "What do we do? Do we delay the mission?"

I touched my chin. Ideally, it would be best to hold off until they got here, but perhaps going on ahead of them was for the best. They would be needed here. Zephyros must've known that we knew of his location. While most would use that time to beef up their defenses, Zephyros could have instead plotted to attack the base, thinking we would leave it largely unprotected.

The question was, who and what awaited us at the base, and if we would be able to defeat them. Plus, it didn't help that half of our group were privates.

"Eh? We aren't waiting on the Major and Lt. Uneri to return?" Milo asked.

"No," I replied, my voice steady. "We can't afford to wait. We need to move now."
