Chapter 88: Like Old Times

Koyuki furrowed her brows at Milo who was shivering.

"Say, how about we rest for tonight?" Koyuki suggested, glancing at the darkening sky. "It's getting late."

"W-what? But I thought you wanted to get to Nokian today."

She sighed. "I do, but... remember what Dad said? Being in a rush can sometimes mean more time wasted. If one of us gets hurt from continuous flying, it could take us longer to get to where we're going. It's also getting darker. Dad and I aren't very good at seeing in the dark as Captain Saffron is."

Milo frowned. "I'm fine." He grinned. "I can keep going! Just stay close to me! I'll light the way!"

I sighed and grabbed him, pulling him down with me.

"H-hey!" he yelled.

"Don't play tough, kid," I said, letting go of him. "Let's stop for tonight like Pumpkin said."

Milo plopped on the ground as I unhanded him. He blew more visible embers from his mouth to warm himself up.
