Chapter 239: Trapped in Fear

"I can see the fear in your eyes," Andrey taunted, his eyes gleaming with cruel satisfaction. "Good. You should be afraid."

"No," Yuki said, stepping forward. His eyes were hard, his grip on his weapon tight. "We're not afraid. We defeated one Nightfiend, we can defeat another."

Andrey laughed again, a sound that echoed eerily in the now silent battlefield. "Brave words. Let's see if you can back them up."

"I defeated the real you and I will defeat you again!"

He snickered. "You will? It was your guardian angel who defeated me, not you. What makes you think you could repeat her feat?"

A pang of frustration hit me. He was right, it was Yukisato who defeated him last time. If only I could summon her whenever I wanted, like how Jiro could summon Emiya. But I couldn't always rely on her. I had to fight too, to protect my friends and myself. I couldn't just stand here and do nothing.
