I sighed as we finally settled into our seats on the train heading to Kaguya City. The soft rumble of the engine provided a momentary respite from the chaos of the day. Kisara and I had spent two grueling hours questioning the bandits, attempting to piece together the puzzle of their attack.
Based on what they told us before we left, we suspected they were funded by either Kasai no Ki or Taahid. The implications were deeply troubling, as both factions were known geopolitical rivals with vested interests in destabilizing Kuroriku.
Kisara sat beside me, her expression a mix of contemplation and resolve. She was always the more direct one, ready to tackle problems head-on. But even she couldn't deny the growing unease that these revelations had stirred.
