William's eyes widened when he saw that the swirling chaos energy was gathering together in a much more stable manner in his palm.
"Woah..." he said softly. He looked up to Sarah and smiled. "You were right. This is so much easier now. I can feel it... I can control the chaos... "
Sarah nodded with a smile on her face.
"Of course you can," she said. "It's just a matter of learning to use the power."
William looked back down at his palm and continued watching the energy in his hand.
Sarah took this moment to observe William's progress while he practiced controlling his power.
She could see that the chaotic energy was no longer unstable and moving about in a wild manner, but it was focused and flowing in a stable, controlled manner in his palm.
"I... I did it," he said softly, sounding surprised by his accomplishment. "I did it," he repeated.
Sarah nodded. "Of course you did, William. I knew you could do it."
She put her hand on his shoulder and looked him in the eyes.
"Now that you've figured out how to control the chaos, we can try you out on some other basic spells."
Sarah held out her hand, summoning another orb of colored light. This one was green in color, and as soon as Sarah summoned it, it began to slowly spin in her palm.
"Do you see how the orb is spinning steadily?" Sarah asked.
William looked at the spinning orb and nodded.
"It looks stable to me, " he said.
"Good," Sarah replied. "That's a basic spell called rotation."
She looked back up at William and smiled.
"I'm going to teach you some more basic spells today," she said.
William nodded, his eyes lighting up with excitement as he looked back at her.
"You mean it? Can I learn real magic now? I'm really, genuinely able to harness the power of chaos?"
Sarah nodded. "Indeed. So long as you have this chaotic crystal with you, you'll be able to use the power of chaos. "
William smiled back at Sarah, feeling the power coursing through his veins once again. He knew that if he was being honest with himself, the mere thought of having this much power made his heart skip a beat.
It wasn't just the power that made him feel so incredible, though. It was the prospect of being able to use that power to do magic... to protect the ones he loved. To help the ones in need. To fight against the shadows that sought to hurt innocent lives.
That... that made his heart race.
William looked down at his hand, his eyes still watching the crystal of chaos in his palm.
"The powers I'll have... with this amount of power... I don't think anyone can stop me," he spoke up with an amused smile on his face.
Sarah chuckled softly as she watched William's excited expression.
"No, don't think that way, William. Remember what I said before about controlling the chaos. Yes, you have a lot of power, but use it responsibly. Remember, you are no more important than anyone else..."
William nodded, letting out a deep breath.
"Yes, I understand," he said, trying to calm down. "I can use my power to protect, but I will *never* use it to hurt. "
Sarah looked back up at him and smiled.
"That's good to hear," she said. "Now, shall we continue your training?" She extended a hand.
"You have an impressive amount of control over your crystal so far. You're learning fast. I'm proud of you, William."
"Thank you," William said, smiling back at Sarah. "I'm learning because I truly trust you."
He took her hand and nodded. "What do you think we should learn next? "
Sarah looked down at his hand again.
"You seem to have good control of your energy. Let's work on a power manipulation spell now. "
William's eyes brightened at the prospect of learning something new.
"Yes, of course!" He said excitedly. "Let's do it!"
Sarah nodded and took a position in front of William. She pointed her left hand at his, where the chaotic crystal was housed.
"Remember that your energy is a product of your will," she said, closing her eyes in concentration.
William tried to focus his energy again, willing it to calm and become stable. He could feel the energy wanting to push and pull, but he fought it. He forced the energy to remain in its stable state, and with his eyes opened, watched as the chaotic crystal in his palm remained still.
"Good," Sarah whispered. She looked back up to William. "Now, we are going to test how well you are able to direct your energy. Focus your power on me. I want you to try and make me float in the air. "
William looked at Sarah for a moment and swallowed hard, feeling nervous about controlling his energy to that degree.
"Alright. "
He focused his attention on Sarah and concentrated on his energy again. For a moment, nothing happened, but then a light began to glow around Sarah's feet.
Sarah looked down at her feet and saw the light, feeling the flow of energy moving around her body and gathering up her feet. She could feel herself being elevated as she was lifted off the ground.
Her eyes widened in surprise as she looked back up at William. He was now staring at her, looking as surprised as she was.
"It... it worked!" He said. "I did it! I can direct the energy! " He couldn't help but smile at the realization that he had control over his chaotic power.
Sarah smiled back at him. "Very good," she said, looking at the light around her feet. She looked down at William and then back at her own feet.
"Let's try something else," she said. "Try to use your energy to make me glow."
William nodded and closed his eyes again. He tried to control the chaos crystal in his palm, willing it to send its energy out and make Sarah glow.
