Running Like A Madwoman

God knows what Abigail was thinking about this time to have such an anxious expression on her face. When Nicholas looked at her, she was already hitting her own head with her fist as if she had committed a crime and was now guilty of it.

He ignored her actions and said, "Let's go."

"Huh?" Abigail woke up from her dazed state where she was hitting her own forehead and rubbed that area through the mask, nodding at the man. "Okay."

As soon as they stepped outside the car, the reporters instantly recognized the man.

"AHHH, IT'S NICHOLAS HARRISON!!!"

"Look how handsome he's looking!"

"Wait, who's that girl with him?"

"Damn, she's gorgeous!"

At that time, she didn't know that the gown she was wearing on her body was extremely costly and trending. Several artists tried to copy it but failed terribly. So despite having several celebrities trying out the copies, no one dared to purchase the real one. After all, at that cost, they could buy ten villas of their own in the most expensive area of the city.

But Abigail purchased that gown not because it looked extremely stunning to the point one couldn't take their eyes off her once she stepped onto the carpet. But it was because she wanted to spend her husband's money to the point the man would beg her to stop.

Alas! Nicholas didn't say a single word about it.

As they walked beyond the car, Nicholas abruptly held her hand, making her stunned. She looked down in a daze.

Ah, this was the first time he was holding her hand! Oh, my God! Her heart jumped to her throat, making it seem like a small rabbit wanting to get out of her chest. A feeling of warmth spread throughout as she had an itchy feeling in her heart.

Could it be that his mind toward her changed? Had he finally realized what it meant to be a husband?!

Gleeful, she raised her head only to meet the man's cold eyes full of warning, as if telling her to go on with him and not to overreact.

Abigail instantly came back to herself as she pouted. A bitter feeling rose from her heart at that moment.

How could she forget it was all an act for him? He wanted to become a handsome and perfect husband in the eyes of others, didn't he?

Hah, she would show him how difficult it would be for the man to fulfill his little wish!

So in front of all the reporters, she instantly shook the man's hand off and even showed him a tongue mockingly, running inside like a madwoman.

Everyone was stunned.

Reporters: "..."

Guards: "..."

Nicholas: "..."

No one knew how to react for a moment seeing such childish behavior of the woman who came with the famous CEO. Nicholas had been the bachelor of the year, actually the bachelor of every freaking year ever since he stepped into the entertainment circle as the boss of the biggest entertainment firm ever. Every actress wanted to walk down the red carpet with him and be held by him like that.

It was their dream.

But when the ladies inside the main gate saw such a scene, they were shocked. Just who was this woman who dared to throw Mr. Harrison's hand like that in the public and even mock him by showing her tongue?!

At that moment, none of the ladies standing there blamed Nicholas for that. In their eyes, there was no one who could be more handsome and perfect than the man. He would be perfect in their eyes even if he committed a crime.

So their angry glances darted toward the lady who walked down the red carpet with her chin raised high in pride.

"Just who's this girl?" asked an actress belonging to the Harrison Corporation.

"Who knows…? Maybe some b*tch," replied her bimbo friend.

"Such a pretentious girl. Tsk."

"Wait, doesn't she look a bit familiar?" A singer frowned upon looking at the woman, but she still couldn't remember why she felt familiar.

Of course, how could anyone connect this beautiful young lady wearing a mask with that Mrs. Harrison who had destroyed an entire lobby in the company? That woman was a mess with her hair scattered all over the place.

So after hearing that singer's words, others didn't take it seriously and waved her off.

"You're mistaken."

"Yeah, this is the first time I've seen her."

"Is that so?" The singer frowned.

After walking away, entering the venue garden full of celebrities and decorations on either side of the stoned road she walked on, Abigail finally realized she did something atrocious once again in a fit of anger. Her steps slowed down a little, but she didn't stop as she continued down the road.

Now that she did the deed, she no longer had the courage to turn and look at her husband. She knew she had insulted him in the public eye.

But who started it? Everything was his fault from the start! Who told him to give her false hopes like this?

Abigail continued onward until she finally bumped into someone. "Ouch, can't you see-"

"Abigail?"

A crisp woman's voice sounded from the other side, making Abigail stop as she looked over.

Now she met another character she created face-to-face, Anne Bennett. The character she was guilty to face.

For an entire minute, Abigail stood there, staring at the woman in a daze. The latter thought that this girl was probably angry for some reason. So Anne lowered her voice and said, "Abigail, don't make a scene here, okay? Let's go to the side and talk it all out."

Abigail blinked and wondered what kind of friend was this villain? To think the villain's best friend would bluntly say not to make a scene in public. It seemed this villain's nature was even more terrible than what she had mentioned in her novel.

"Okay."

Now that 'okay' surprised Anne so much that it was her time to be stunned and dazed. After a while, she opened her mouth and asked, "O-okay?"

"Uh-huh. That's exactly what I said." Abigail felt guilty for this best friend she got all of a sudden and asked softly, "Why would I create a scene in front of you for no reason?"
