I finished all my work before the New Year.
Then, I resigned.
"I've had offers from a couple of universities that I've always wanted to go to, and I'm planning to go abroad for further study."
"You are leaving too?" Randall stood up agitatedly. "Is it because of the salary? Don't go. I'll raise your salary until you're satisfied."
After the New Year, Amy was going abroad and I was going too. That must be hard for Randall to accept.
His carefree days would come to an end.
I was amused. "Of course not. I made a lot of money here."
"Then why are you leaving for further study? You're outstanding enough."
"There's no end to learning." I didn't want him to feel bad.
To others, he might be slack and frivolous, but he had helped me in desperate times.
I would be grateful to him for the rest of my life.
Randall looked like he was about to cry and refused to talk to me.
He knew too well that once I had made up my mind, no one could change it.
