"what do you mean?" I was confused.

"nothing" she said in an emotionless tone.

I woke up very relaxed the nest morning. i came downstairs to find the princess talking to a kid.

"so, you want me to hold these wires and use my lightning on it?"

"yea!" Neolyn was holding a strange but familiar device in her hand.

"what if i broke it?"

"this machine is designed to convert big power into small power, so it'll be fine."

As I recall, that machine was created for Espers with electricity and lightning manipulation to help them control their output just enough to use for everyday appliances.

and she's using the kid to charge her phone.

"Neo, are you serious right now?" I looked back to see my senior Amelia.

"what's wrong?" the princess asked without thinking about what she was doing.

"you are basically committing a crime, non-consensual usage of another esper's powers for personal reasons!"

"no, this is consensual" Neolyn pats the kids head.

"you bribed him with sweets." Amelia yelled.

"no, I've traded sweets with a one time usage of his power" Neolyn retorted.

"there! it's done" Neolyn pulls out her phone from the device as Amelia sighed helplessly.

"So, When's Neolyn's birthday?" a woman dressed in black spoke.

Frostine fully focused on the paperwork, answered "few more hours."

"did we find the students?" a voice echoed from the "throne"

"we did! it'll take us 4 hours to get to them." the woman replied.

"Draconia! can you not speed up the process" joseph asked worriedly.

"the station is moving as fast as it can and i can't just teleport an entire space station" Draconia answered.

"there is a way to get to them, quickly and it involves using technology from the era of despair!" Frostine suggested.

the key figures in the room immediately understood what she meant.

"isn't that tech sealed away to never be used again. At least that's what the rumors say" Draconia was intrigued.

"well, it depends on the current archon!"

"So, who's the current archon" Frostine asked with a slight glimmer of hope.

"umm! it's Neo"

"come again?"

"Neo"

Frostine looked at joseph with a face that had WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK written on it.

"hold up what's this about a archon and my girl being one" Draconia asked feeling a little lost in the conversation.

Frostine sighed as she began to explain.

"information relating to the archon and the empire is strictly confidential especially to someone of the asura clan, but considering your circumstances, i think i can let you in on it. the era of despair refers to the time period when the asuras ruled the land. Under the leadership of Alicia Aurora, A resistance movement was orchestrated. But they were outmatched. So they improvised. they had built huge facilities underground and began constructing massive weapons and assembling an army. The resistance's true motive however was complete control of power as they evolved into an organization known as the empire. ruled by the first archon Alicia. after the rise of the Aurora faction to power. the empire began to operate under the shadows, should the ruling emperor be led astray or an emergency or disaster may befall the Ashoka, then the empire will return to set things straight. The existence of the empire is only privy to the royal family. Each year, we have to make like a report to the archon. But after our little 'plan', Joseph and the archon have been making the reports on their own."

"So, how did my daughter become the archon."

"the selection and training process for the archon is a mystery even to us. But knowing the archon, she probably took a liking to Neo" joseph replied.

"and how is my daughter going to help rescue the students?" Draconia asked.

"the empire had an plethora of weapons and technology stored in a secret dimension accessible only to the archon, and one of them includes a long-ranged teleporter, which is how they mobilized their troops quickly and efficiently. and how it works is beyond me, and Neolyn could use it since is the archon now." Frostine explained her plan.

"a teleporter?"

"yeah, but not like the one's we use which can teleport only 25m at max. this beast can literally teleport insanely large distances. like in one warp this thing was able to get people from the Kaiser region to the capital during the battle of quakes."

"That's.. a lot of distance" Draconia was shocked.

"according to Neolyn, we are gonna have to meet the ruler of this land at afternoon." Amelia informed us.

"so, we have a lot of free time" Axle spoke.

"yea! what do we do in the mean time?" Sasha asked Amelia.

"might i suggest some combat training for everyone." i recommended.

everyone looked at me and thought about it. 

"yeah, let's do it!" Amalia said. and thus we commenced our combat training. 

we decided on short one on one battles. We wrote our names on a piece of paper and shuffled and chose two at random. the two selected names would be opponents in the match that we decided to hold.

"looks like me and Alex" Amelia said with a smile.

"umm! I won't hold back" Alex said confidently.

the two fighters took their positions on the ground, a safe distance from each other and the spectators. Alex ignited his flames in his hand, while Amelia summoned two huge purple colored blobs. without a warning, she launched the blob at him, He responded quickly by burning them. she summoned more at the same time and began a barrage.

"she's fast!" Axle exclaimed.

Alex started to have trouble dodging all the balls of poison. some of them managed to graze him. He quickly wrapped himself in fire to protect against the poison, and attempted to close the distance between him and Amelia.

[fire lord's technique: flare rush]

Alex used his technique that boosted his speed and launched him at Amelia, using the momentum he followed up using another technique

this technique covered him in an armor of fire and greatly boosted his attack power. the place where he landed was quickly covered in the smoke of an explosion. But Amelia dodged it skillfully. 

"take this!" Alex began launching explosive burst of his fire at close range. Since he was confident in the fire immunity granted by his fire lord's physique. Amelia began jumping far away from him. Alex shot his fire balls at her. 

"there's no escape" He yelled.

Amelia finally unleashed her technique.

[poison queen's technique: plague of weakness]

her technique created a field which covered the whole area in a poisonous mist. within moments of being in the mist, Alex could feel his power weakening.

"what's this?" He was confused. his movements were sluggish and weak. he felt like his consciousness was slipping away. he realized that being in the mist was making him dizzy and weak. 

Amelia smirked, as Alex grinned. His flames began burning brightly as he prepared his technique. 

[fire lord's ultimate technique: star fall] 

a huge explosion occurred blowing away the plague of weakness. Amelia remained unfazed, but she was annoyed. She preferred to end battles as early as possible. But Alex was not going down. 

"Amelia, you're going down" Alex provoked.

"Alex, i think the time for games is over" Amelia replied as she began to use her trump card. Her secret power that she has avoided using, since the beginning. Large vines began grow and began to decorate the place with beautiful and poisonous flowers. 

[poison queen: world of thorns]

"that's cool" Alex a little intrigued by the flowers, decided to go all out. the temperature around him began to rise, as the flames began to glow even brightly. the brightness eventually began to dim as the fire began to change into a light blue color. the power demonstrated by the two was so immense that the ground began to break and bits and pieces of the rocks began to float as they were being displaced.

[fire lord: flames of absolute victory]

"hey the two of you gotta stop it" Axle began to realize that this battle was going out of bounds.

[mother earth: nature's bind] Sasha used her nature manipulation to create giant hands of the forest to try and hold them, but it was being withered and burned by their power.

"oh no!"

[ENOUGH] Neoyln's voice was heard. But something was different, it was as if the voice was heard inside the head. The rampant power unleashed by Amelia and Alex was overwhelmed by the Neolyn's power.
