CHAPTER 03
MACKIS' FALL
When my father and my mother forsake me, then the LORD will take me up.
Teach me thy way, O LORD, and lead me in a plain path, because of mine enemies.
Psalm 27:10-11
It is a terrible cold night and the thickness of his night garments cannot be enough to ease the coldness he feels.
He is sobbing while making his way down from the hanging net cover of beautiful flowers of the castle's garden. He is unaware of his direction. His eyes covered with tears tried to visualize the darkness while fighting against the coldness of the night.
The queen never bothered herself to look for him. She silently left Mackis chamber sure enough of the prince's death. She ignored any ounce of concern for Mackis. She could never entertain weaknesses -not anything nor anyone under the sunlight she could permit to stop her from her gluttonous ambition.
Mackis strived harder but seems his little strength never will allow him to finish whatever the best way he could to save himself. The icy coldness froze his every little nerve. "M-mother! Mother! Save me from here please." He begged pathetically but the deafening silence of the night brought back the noise he created to his own ears. He cried terribly in the horror and pain he felt.
He stopped there to rest his body and waited for the frozen dew of the night to claim his death.
"Prince Mackis my son, you are so precious to me. You are my precious amongst any possessions. You are the best reason for your mother's rejoicing never cause her tears through your death." King Nicolau uttered him in hopes of reviving his son from death.
He was six years old when he was inflicted with gastritis. His stomach suffered the most unusual pain he ever felt in his existence. He vomited horribly that almost dug his intestines out for three days. The king has promised the doctors of the kingdom to receive a good prize to perform their best in mending him. But he was so hopeless. In his young thought, he could simply ask for a sweet sleep to rest from inflection.
His queen mother took the seat of the king beside Mackis' bed. She occupied but show not an ounce of concern for his prince child. She looked at him as if it was her duty but she never laid a finger for his comfort. Her colored eyelids are glittery while her pupils round the mocking words she only knows from her inside. The king left to summon the best doctor in the kingdom.
He terribly shook in pain as the tingling heat burn him inside and urge him to vomit awfully as his nurse held the pail to his face. The queen watches him with satisfaction in his suffering. How come she is his mother?
