I was concentrating on my studies. We were looking at various properties of the human body, how the brain accumulates its knowledge in stimuli. Perhaps that allowed one to concentrate on the alternate reality and it was easy for a virtual helmet to create sensations that transcended reality.

I could say I was fascinated, but there were many more things that kept me awake, from the pain in my back as well as the feeling that come nightfall someone would be waiting for me.

I didn't feel like my soul was becoming corrupted, rather I felt as if my body was evolving and adapting to the changes, maybe a happiness I didn't want to awaken before, maybe the rebelliousness I never had in my teenage years.

Aaron was waiting for me at the exit, his arms crossed, his gaze was upside down and I thought he was falling asleep. I walked over to where he was, trying to give him a little tap on his shoulder so I could wake him up.
