When the sound of the gunshot rang out, all the men in black were on the ground. Carter and Aaron were still standing, as was Kyle, who was staring in amazement at what had happened.

I didn't know what Aaron had done, I didn't know until I looked at the blood covered ground around Kyle's men. No doubt he had hit them in a spot that had left them unconscious, I thought he hadn't killed them, it was impossible, one of them was the one who shot, it couldn't all be over in less than two seconds.

I looked at Kyle, he wasn't scared, he wasn't angry either. His eyes showed resignation, as if he was aware of what was going on around him and somehow I felt sorry, I had never seen him like that.
