Within Society 1

They entered through a gate and walked in the halls of the walls surrounding the city. They acted like a military base for garrisons across the city, protecting the outer walls from attacks and appraising survivors who somehow reached this place.

Once they got through these halls, they entered the city proper. It shone with lights, the buildings having a little more life than the bland halls they went through. Yet, it was darker than them, far darker.

There was no light there besides the ones cast by the building's lamps and signs. Everything was walled up like a building's floor rather than what one would expect of a city.

On the streets, there was junk and people scattered. Some followed on their merry way, while others were on the sidewalks, wasting away. The temperature inside of it was warmer and more bearable than the outside, the only reason those people were able to survive being outside.
