Did Yang Yuxin Catch a Cold?

Su Chen and Yang Yuxin sat awkwardly in the dining area, eating the food brought back by Yang Danxuan. They looked at each other without saying a word. For a moment, the atmosphere at the scene was extremely awkward.

Yang Yuxin was afraid her elder sister would inquire about her relationship with Su Chen, and similarly, Yang Danxuan was concerned her younger sister would ask why Su Chen appeared in her room. Only Su Chen, who knew the whole story, continued to eat calmly, as if everything happening around him had nothing to do with him.

"Xing'er, you must be very busy lately, balancing the company you collaborate on with Su Chen and serving the people," Yang Danxuan commented. The hidden meaning of her words was clear, implying that Yang Yuxin shouldn't attend her concert that night. If she did, how could Yang Danxuan perform on the same stage with Su Chen?

"It's fine, sis, I'm free today," Yang Yuxin replied with a bright smile. She had always wanted to go, especially since it was her sister's first performance. To Yang Yuxin's knowledge, this wasn't a typical concert but rather an opportunity for Yang Danxuan to prove herself again.

Yang Yuxin was curious about her sister's singing capabilities. She knew Yang Danxuan had been practicing singing from a young age, but even though her voice was pleasant, it wasn't exceptional. However, in the past two months, Yang Danxuan's singing had improved leaps and bounds. Of course, another significant factor was that Su Chen would also be attending. At this point, Yang Yuxin began to feel concerned and wanted to keep a close eye on Su Chen.

After hearing Yang Yuxin's response, Yang Danxuan felt she had no choice but to agree, commenting, "Having both of you there will put a lot of pressure on me." Her nervousness wasn't just because of the concert.

"Sis, seeing you this nervous, why not head to the vocal training room and warm up?" Yang Yuxin suggested. Yang Danxuan thought it was a good idea and headed straight to the training room. After entering the music industry, she had promptly set up a luxurious vocal training room at home, spending most of her time there.

Upon arriving, Yang Danxuan glanced back and noticed Yang Yuxin hadn't followed. She let out a sigh of relief, then picked up her phone to arrange the concert for the evening.

Meanwhile, the entertainment company Yang Danxuan was affiliated with was holding a meeting. "This concert is at the largest stadium in Beijing, and our promotional efforts have been impeccable," said a dignified-looking middle-aged man seated in the center of the conference room. "The success of this concert is crucial; our company's revival depends on it."

"Yes," another executive chimed in. "Recently, Zhang Li's 'Starlight Entertainment' has been thriving. Rumor has it they're backed by the Su family's young master, and they seem to have endless resources."

"So, no matter what, we need to hype it up first." The middle-aged man's phone rang at this moment. Glancing at the caller ID, he hastily answered, "Danxuan? Yes, what's your command? You want to add a name to the list for a guest performance? Won't that be a little problematic? I'm afraid it might affect your performance. Alright, alright, I'll arrange it."

After hanging up, the middle-aged man took a deep breath. Meanwhile, at the dining table, Su Chen was eating as usual. Out of the blue, Yang Yuxin playfully complained, "Su Chen, my hands are tired. I don't want to eat."

"Well, rest a bit and then continue eating," Su Chen replied righteously. In response, Yang Yuxin nudged him with her delicate foot and moved to the sofa, hugging her knees and sulking. "We should discuss our company's matters now. After all, it's our shared business, and innovation is our priority. Should we invest heavily in recruiting talents from universities?"

Su Chen had always harbored a dream. He wanted graduates from elite universities to work for him, living the 996 (TL note: refers to a work schedule of 9 am to 9 pm, 6 days a week) work schedule he once endured. 996 was still acceptable to him. An intriguing plan formed in Su Chen's mind: Offering massages at 5 in the morning, nutritious breakfasts at 7, never mandating overtime, yet having employees treat the company like home.

However, no matter what Su Chen said at the moment, Yang Yuxin remained silent. She hugged her knees and turned her head away, clearly signaling: "Pamper me, pamper me, or I'll be mad." With no other choice, Su Chen approached her, lifting her chin and taking the opportunity to caress her face. At first, Yang Yuxin glared angrily, attempting to pull away. However, Su Chen was persistent, grabbing her foot to pull her back, continuing his playful torment. Exasperated, Yang Yuxin threw a punch at him, complaining, "You always bully me; I hate you so much."

Teasingly, Su Chen responded, "From the way you speak, it seems you've been greatly wronged. Let me touch your chest to see if you still have a conscience," Yang Yuxin shot back, defiantly puffing out her chest, "Go on."

However, as Su Chen and Yang Yuxin engaged in their playful banter, significant changes were unfolding outside. The entertainment circle in Beijing was set ablaze due to Yang Danxuan's debut concert. Originally, it was calm since most people weren't keen on giving much attention to such events. Yet, with whispers of a special guest performer, online discussions about this mysterious guest surged.

"Who could be the secret guest at Yang Danxuan's concert?"

"No matter how you see it, it seems like a preplanned stunt."

"In the entertainment circle, Yang Danxuan is seen as somewhat of a loner. Who could her friends possibly be?"

"Could it be a boyfriend?"

This was explosive news. However, many people were more inclined to believe that it would be Yang Yuxin. After all, she was Yang Danxuan's younger sister. While Yang Yuxin might not have the national goddess status like Yang Danxuan, in Beijing, her reputation was notable. In fact, she was more popular than many trending celebrities. She had protected many of Beijing's vulnerable groups, preventing them from being bullied. She had effectively maintained the city's order, especially impressive given Beijing's plethora of powerful forces. Hence, Yang Yuxin was immensely popular in Beijing.

Yang Danxuan quickly emerged from the practice room and found only Su Chen in the living room. With her sister in the restroom, a weight seemed to lift off her chest. She had been pondering on how to create a private moment to chat with Su Chen.

"I've made the arrangements. You can't mess up tonight," Yang Danxuan said as she approached Su Chen.

Su Chen was speechless. "Weren't you having me accompany you to make you look good? Now you want me to perform flawlessly, which suggests you want me to sing poorly."

Su Chen waved his hand to reassure her. Given his current state, singing well might be a challenge. He once possessed an extraordinary singing talent. However, due to repeated life cycles, all his skills were forcibly stripped by the 'dog system'. Now, he couldn't sing at all.

Seeing Su Chen's distant gaze, Yang Danxuan thought he was being dismissive. Angrily, she reached out and pinched him.

Su Chen winced in pain. "Are you mad? That really hurt!"

Feeling guilty, Yang Danxuan quickly apologized, "Oh dear, I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to."

Su Chen responded, "It's okay, but what were you thinking?"

Yang Danxuan shot him a cold look, "What do you mean by that?"

With a mischievous grin, Su Chen replied, "Sorry, I was lost in thought."

Yang Danxuan suspected Su Chen was hiding something. She narrowed her eyes, "What's got you so distracted?"

Of course, Su Chen couldn't tell her about the recent incident with Yang Yuxin. As it was a private lesson, he chose to remain silent.

At that moment, Su Chen's phone rang. It was his mother, Chen Qing.

Puzzled, he answered, "Hello, Mom. What's up?"

"I heard that little Yuxin is attending Yang Danxuan's concert tonight," her voice filled with evident excitement.

Su Chen: "Is there such a thing? Why don't I know anything about it?" Of course, he couldn't voice this concern.

Given his mother's fondness for Yang Yuxin, if he admitted his ignorance and it turned out to be true, he would surely face a lecture from his mother for not caring about Yang Yuxin.

"Indeed."

Chen Qing chuckled, "Your father and I bought two tickets. We want to hear our future daughter-in-law sing."

Su Chen was taken aback. What? Both my parents are attending the concert? Have they lost their minds? This spells trouble. Su Chen could already imagine the situation if his parents saw him singing with Yang Danxuan.

Chen Qing added, "You also must attend. But I heard tickets are sold out. You'll have to sort that out!"

Su Chen immediately discerned his mother's intentions: she wanted him to ask Yang Yuxin for tickets. In the end, Su Chen reassured his mother that he would be there, speaking with the earnestness of a child to a parent.

"It's all your fault, Su Chen!" A raspy voice exclaimed following the sound of a door opening.

Even over the phone, Chen Qing recognized the voice as Yang Yuxin's. Chen Qing: "My dear son, get moving. I'm waiting for grandchildren, haha!"

With a chuckle, Chen Qing hung up. Su Chen appeared downcast.

Before he could inquire about what happened with Yang Yuxin, Yang Danxuan approached, voicing her concern, "Yuxin, your voice sounds so raspy. Did you catch a cold?"

"Just a sore throat," Yang Yuxin responded, shooting Su Chen an annoyed look. Su Chen gestured in defense, indicating he wasn't to blame.
