Blood Thieves

The wolves were still sleeping and the night was young. The spider directed him towards a room he hadn't visited before.

It choose the rooms at random, preventing a trend from forming which could lead to its discovery.

The next part was slightly difficult as Bian had to remotely control the syring to follow behind the dart.

He hit the tunnels several times, but managed to avoid making a very large noise.

He didn't know how the spider managed to maneuver the daft through the complex pipes, but all he had to do was make the syringe follow the dart.

The two closed their eyes and put all their focus on the geno cores they were controlling.

They couldn't leave them in the pipes for too long or they would get damaged by the intense heat.

Suddenly, the syringe faltered again and heat the pipes. It steadily itself immediately after and continued following the dart.

'The cauldron is done with whatever it was doing.' Bian felt that the actions of the cauldron had ceased.

Since it was in his soul sea, he could observe it from every angle and he saw a black circular pill sitting at the bottom of the cauldron.

The pill was obviously refined from the body of the bat, but Bian wasn't sure of its effects.

He temporarily ignored it and focused on moving the syringe.

It was a difficult process, but after ten minutes, they finally reached the room on the other side.

Bian still had to follow the lead of the spider, as he couldn't observe what was happening in the room.

He waited from the spider's signal, as its dart injected all five inhabitants in the room.

'Alright, the paralysis is very effective, but doesn't last very long. I'll first guide you to the elephant, control the syringe and full it to the brim, but don't let it spill.'

Animals had a very keen sense of smell. If a single drop spilled out, they would smell it and know something was wrong.

The syringe was led by the dart, then the spider gave him the signal. He controlled it to inject the target and draw blood until it was full.

Then the dart led him back to the room.

'You can have the first barrel. I'll take from the next ones.' Bian told the spider. The blood from an animal as big as an elephant wouldn't net him a single geno point.

After taking the path once, he was quite familiar with it and managed to bring back the syringe without as much bumps.

Once the syringe was back in the room, the spider bit on its tip, completely covering the mouth.

If animals sense of smell was king-like, then wolves own were godly. It had to be very careful to prevent the wolves from smelling it.

Bian slowly pushed the blood into its mouth and the spider gulped it all down without pause.

Where had the large blood gone to in the small spider's body? It wasn't his business.

It took almost twenty minutes to extract blood from the first creature. As the syringe was heading back to the room, Bian summoned the pill from the cauldron.

He masked himself with the Dongxuan Sutra, making sure smells wouldn't leak out too much.

Bian stared at the pill suspiciously, he had his back faced to the spider so it couldn't see what he was doing.

He took a small bite from it and instantly regretted his decision.

Bitter, too bitter. It tasted like dry bitter herbs mixed with leather.

Bian barely managed to supress throwing it up, because he felt some energy from that small bite.

The pill was larger than a button but smaller than an egg. He placed it in his mouth and swallowed it in one gulp.

Bian suddenly felt his strength rapidly rising. His eyesight improved, his sense of smelling was elevated and the toughness of his skin jumped by leaps and bounds.

If he fought the bat again, Bian was confident he could leap to its position in the air. He wasn't sure if he could catch the vermin, but the ability to jump tens of meters into the air spoke volumes of his increase in strength.

'Good stuff.' Bian said in delight, the cauldron could compress edible stuff into a pill. It was basically a godsend, for people like him who had to consume large amounts of meat.

Well he had vitality drain, but Bian could only gain about 5-6 geno points using it. The cauldron was more thorough and effective.

Bian returned his focus to the syringe. It arrived in the room again and extracted blood from another creature.

In a couple of minutes, it returned to the room and Bian was ready to reap his harvest.

Instead of him drinking the blood like the bat, he unsummoned the syringe and controlled it to pour out the blood into the cauldron.

All this was happening in his souls sea, away from the senses of other creatures.

Soon, that transparent wave formed again, twisting the blood in a circular pattern.

He summoned the syringe and sent it towards the room, three more times.

He poured two of barrels into the cauldron, and gave the last to the spider.

[Geno points acquired: 10 Ordinary Geno Points]

He had gotten 10 geno points from a single creature. It was quite an amazing feeling and Bian was looking forward to pill that would be formed from the three syringe barrels of blood.

'I'll weave your clothes in the morning.' The spider said and found a spot to lay down with its bloated belly.

Bian wasn't feeling tired yet. He dived into his soul sea and continued experimenting with the Emperical Decree.

He had some second and first sanctuary beast souls to test it on.

Ordinary Beast Soul + Ordinary Beast Soul = Primitive Beast Soul.

Mutant Beast Soul + Primitive Beast Soul = Berserk Mutant Beast Soul.

Sacred-blood Beast Soul + Primitive Beast Soul = Sacred-blood Beast Soul.

Fusing two of the same rank gave rise to a higher rank. Fusing two beast souls a rank apart, made the higher one a berserk beast soul.

Fusing beast souls two or more ranks apart, didn't elevate the rank of the beast soul, rather the superior one gained some properties from the inferior ones.

The type of beast soul formed depended on the two parent beast souls. It would be one or other.

The rank of the beast soul, seemed to be play a small role in determining which type of beast soul would be formed.

Bian had fused Super Beast Soul Wings with an Ordinary Beast Soul Weapon, and the beast soul formed was still a super beast soul, but was a weapon type.

He could also fuse geno cores, but he didn't dare to experiment on his self geno cores.

The Blood Syringe would still have its uses for days to come, so Bian left it alone too.

Hours had passed by, but the crystals above still remained dark.

Bian laid down beside Bao'er and stayed half-asleep and half-awake. The dongxuan sense was always running and he had the spirit pillar ready to respond to any threat.

Despite his preparations, the night passed peacefully and the crystals began to shine a bright light, ushering in a new day.

The doors were opening as several beasts went up and about the shelter.

Bian even some saw a group of huge mutant creatures opening the door where he had planned to bury the bat.

'So they're the ones digging the hole!' Bian was relieved that he didn't dump the body there after all. He wouldn't be able to cry about the injustice once he was caught.

The creatures seemed busy enough and no one noticed the missing bat.

He even saw the elephant again, it was looking a bit pale, but so where all the other creatures.

"You human, follow me. The Princess is calling!" A voice said rudely.

Bian turned around to face the spirit who spoke to him. He was dressed in chainmail armor, which didn't cover his head at all.

Bian silently followed behind the spirit, wondering what the Ash Princess wanted from him.

'It could be about the cauldron.' Bian realised and summoned the blood-red pill that had formed in it.

Since he was walking behind, the spirit didn't see his actions as he swallowed the pill in one gulp.

Bian gained three more ordinary geno points, increasing his fitness even more.

He patted Bao'er head, who was wondering what he ate and walked into the spirit's chambers.

"You've had a whole nights rest, have you figured out what the cauldron does?" She asked him.

Bian patiently explained that he had placed some of his remaining food into the cauldron and it shaped it into a pill.

"Did the pill increase your fitness or have any other effects?" She asked him.

"No, it just saved me the trouble of eating the food items one by one." Bian said.

The spirit went to a small tree and plucked an apple from it. It wasn't an ordinary apple as it was releasing a very pleasant smell.

She asked Bian to summon the cauldron and placed the apple inside.

The cauldron released a circular vortex wave, which covered the apple.

Slowly they watched as the apple was reduced to a pill in thirty minutes.

When the pill was perfectly rounded, the vortex dissapered and the spirit took out the pill.

She scrutinized it carefully and swallowed the pill.

"It really is just like eating the fruit normally." You would think she would be angry, but the spirit actually spoke with some excitement.

The way she looked at Bian changed, it was obvious she wanted something from him.

Bian couldn't be sure since she hadn't done anything too drastic, but he was sure that she was up to no good.

His spirit pillar was heating up, warning him of malicious intent.
