Bian faced Ash Princess who obviously had a need for his cauldron.
With the way geno cores operated, she could kill him and stand a chance to gain his geno core.
Bian thought quickly and spoke up.
"Since the princess has need for the cauldron, I will leave it in your care. I am already bound to your highness after all."
He said in a subservient tone while also placing a hand on his stomach, where the black poison pill he swallowed had settled down.
Her eyes lit up at the realisation. There was no need to kill him and seize his geno core since his life was already in her hands.
"Yes, that's good. I definately won't mistreat you. Follow Velocat to get your own room, and come back for a tribute every three days"
She threw him an apple from a nearby tree. Bian looked at the hundreds of apple, dotting the garden and couldn't help but curse at her internally.
Even if she gave him an apple a day, there was enough here to last over two years.
Still, he was in the wrong because he was weaker. He could only leave his geno core with her and give a slight bow.
"Thank you for your grace." He said and followed the Red-furred Cheetah, Velocat out.
He went past a dozen other rooms, before stopping at a particular room.
Velocat strided in and let out a ferocious roar, chasing the inhabitants out of the room.
The snake, cows and bear could only give Bian a side eye, as they were forced to find another place to rest.
Once it's job was done, Velocat walked out and found the little monkey. Then the two of them left through the exit.
"They both have the same poisonous beads in their stomachs. That means only the ruby snake and tree-armed ape are willingly working for Ash Princess."
As Bian was speaking to himself, he heard a growl from Bao'er stomach. He handed her the apple without hesitation and told her to chew it carefully.
"It's super sweet!" Bao'er exclaimed.
Bian knew it was better than any mundane fruit and was satisfied to know that it could keep her full for at least two days.
'How did such a wonderful fruit grow in such a morbid environment? No doubt, it has to do with the leaking energy.'
Bian stroked his chin as he reasoned. He had no current job to do, so he stayed in his room to ponder a bit.
Apart from the Ash Princess, only he and Bao'er weren't loosing any energy.
He could understand the other two, but why was he unaffected?
'Perhaps Jadeskins immunity to poisons and curses has a hand to play. Jadebody is more evolved than jadeskin, so it could be neutralising whatever is happening.'
Was this the correct hypothesis? Bian had no idea.
Since he wasn't being disturbed, he couldn't figure it out and he didn't plan on staying forever, he threw the matter to the back of him mind.
He opened the door, just in time to see the small spider approaching him with a silky white tunic.
As it got closer, he moved aside and gestures for it to come inside. After he closed the door, he turned his focus to the spider, staring into its blood-red eyes.
'I have weaved your garment like we agreed upon.' The spider said directly.
Bian picked up the white tunic, it had an open colar, was long sleeved and extended to his knees.
It was crafted exquisitely, even with only one colour of material. Regardless of his tastes though, Bian couldn't expect the spider to craft trousers and a shirt.
'Thank you for this, I'd like to commission another piece of clothing. Something to cover my lower half.' Bian communicated to the spider.
'How are you going to pay?' The spider was already feeling cheated, crafting a tunic for Bian while only getting two barrels.
Bian thought about how useful the spider was, and offered it a deal it couldn't refuse.
'I'll let you move into this room with me. That way, we won't have to be so cautious at night.'
Once Bian said this, he saw the spider jumping up and down, joy etched on its face.
'Let me start right away.'
The spider sat on its abdomen and curved its thorax. Silky white web was ejected from its spinneret, curved and guided along with its eight limbs.
Bian was in awe and even Bao'er watched with eyes wide opened, as the spider weaved and knitted a stream of webs into a more solid fabric.
In just two hours, it had weaved a loincloth for Bian.
'Thanks, this is your home too.' Bian gave a heartfelt thanks as he received the loincloth.
'It's just business. I have more work to do, I'll come back when it's night.' The spider said and went out to continue weaving and exchanging for materials.
Bian closed the door after it left and with the loincloth as his assurance, he dared to experiment with his armor.
Fusing a material and a beast soul. What would happen?
The once bulwark armor was no different from paper in the fourth sanctuary.
It was riddled with cracks and looked like it would come apart at any moment. This was caused just by the atmosphere alone.
If Bian had received even a pat on the shoulder, the armor would have crumbled away long ago.
He placed the white tunic against the blue armor of the Azure Claw King.
Then he activated the Emperical Decree and the armor surrounding his body turned to an indigo light.
The white tunic also became an indigo light and melted into the light surrounding his body.
The two lights fused together and began to reshape itself around Bian's body.
It formed a tunic, a heavily padded tunic. The hems of the pure white tunic were a royal blue, giving it a regally ascetic pleasing view. The length had also extended, reaching his shins.
All in all, Bian was almost completely pleased with the result.
When he searched his soul sea though, the Azure Claw King was nowhere to be seen.
"Is it because the gap was too wide or was there another reason."
The tunic was an excellent piece of clothing, but it wasn't a beast soul.
Bian already had a hunch that this could have happened. There was no point wasting his other beast souls as they couldn't have changed this outcome.
"I still need to get beast soul armor for me and Bao'er." He reminded himself while patting her head.
After wearing the loincloth underneath, Bian was stuck for a moment, unsure of what to do with his time.
He had a lot of skills, but none were particularly meant to be used for the animal kingdom.
He sat on the cold ground, eyes closed amd bored.
"Well, since I can."
As the words left his mouth, a resplendent indigo light followed suit spreading through the ground and encapsulating the entire shelter.
The beasts scattered like panicked birds and even Ash Princess stumbled in her chambers.
The humanoid creatures on the surface, showed no particular reaction to the indigo light. They kept on searching for any signs of life.
Bian observed all this happening, focusing on the sites that piqued his interest most.
Such as Ash Princess, who after recovering from her initial stupor, continued on with her experiments.
Bian saw her slicing up fruits and meat into smaller volumes. Once she was satisfied with the ratio, she tossed a portion into the cauldron.
The Ruby Viper slithered down her arm and positioned its fang atop the cauldron. A drop of black liquid dripped into the concoction mixing with the flesh and fruits.
"I knew she was up to no good." Bian said, feeling confident that his hunch was spot on.
Once the pill was formed, she placed it alongside a dozen other pills and added another portion of fruits and meat to the cauldron.
Even a ten-year old would know that she was planning to poison the entire shelter, but to what end?
What could she stand to gain?
"Let's hope I'm not around to find out." Bian said, but he knew he was currently stuck here because of the swarm of undead creatures outside.
His only saving grace is the fact that he had immunity to poisons, so he was sure her schemes wouldn't kill him outrightly.
