Chapter - 62 - Impotent

Facing her Vinegar calling lemon juice sour, Yi Minghuan groaned irritably, held back a yawn, and raised an eyebrow as he leaned over, so close that he nearly towered over her.

"...What, what are you doing? You are the one with the bad sleeping posture, why don't you let anyone tell you?!" Tang Li met his intense gaze and her heart started racing uncontrollably. She instinctively shifted back, maintaining her composure.

"It was you who couldn't sleep properly," Yi Minghuan continued. "You woke me up twice last night. First, you practically threw yourself on top of me, and then you decided to use my legs as a pillow. I didn't want to be woken up for a third time, so I held you down!"

Yi Minghuan delivered this with a straight face, enumerating her 'crimes', one by one for her to grasp.

"No, that's impossible!" Tang Li's eyes widened, as if she thought he was trying to trick her into confessing a crime. But as she locked eyes with his unwavering gaze, her conviction wavered. She asked with uncertainty, "Could it really be because of my sleeping posture?"

"Absolutely terrible," Yi Minghuan replied, delivering a grave evaluation that left Tang Li red-faced and embarrassed.

Recalling his previous admission of hugging him in her sleep, Tang Li's ears reddened even further. She explained loudly with embarrassment, "I am used to sleeping alone, and this bed is too small."

Yi Minghuan looked at her, then unexpectedly reached out to pinch her crimson earlobes before quickly withdrawing his hand, as if nothing had happened.

He got out of bed, saying, "Get up."

Tang Li, still tingling from the touch, her neck as red as her ears, stared at the retreating figure of the man who had just playfully teased her.

She gritted her teeth in frustration and rose from the bed. As she tidied up the rumpled sheets, she couldn't help but agonize over how terrible her sleeping posture must be.

Even if her sleeping posture was indeed horrendous, it didn't justify him using his legs to press her down, causing her to wake up feeling utterly drained, as if she had spent the night beneath a crushing weight, her dreams filled with helpless pleas for help.

It had nearly led her to believe she was cast as the hapless Monkey King!

She fumed inwardly.

After neatly folding the bed sheet, Tang Li walked over to the well to wash her face. Still seething, she complained to Yi Minghuan, who was busy brushing his teeth, "You can't sleep on top of me anymore; I wake up aching all over."

"....Okay.." Yi Minghuan wanted to argue and almost retorted but, at the sight of Su Cheng approaching, he restrained himself and focused on brushing his teeth.

Su Cheng overheard Tang Li's comment and observed her rosy cheeks. She immediately assumed they must have spent the night together.

She shot a quick glance at Yi Minghuan, silently berating him for his lack of judgment.

How could he fall for a plain and overweight woman like Tang Li?!

Once Yi Minghuan finished brushing his teeth and left, Su Cheng sauntered over to the well. She watched Tang Li washing her face and curled her lips slyly, saying, "Looks like you had a rough night. You should preserve your dignity instead of screaming all morning, as if you're trying to make sure everyone knows."

"....." Tang Li blushed and spluttered in disbelief.

She couldn't believe it – her own sister-in-law was envious of her husband, and she even had the audacity to express it with such a bitter tone!

What kind of people are they!

As Yi Wanjing approached, Tang Li shifted her gaze towards her and mimicked a scornful village woman, raising her voice with bitterness.

"Are you jealous?!"

"It's not surprising!" Tang Li continued. "What can you expect when your husband can't even do a man's job? You've been married for three years, and you still don't have a child!"

Su Cheng blinked, taken aback by Tang Li's audacity. It was the first time someone had questioned her fertility without insulting her.

Instead, her husband was being accused of not being 'man enough.' The new perspective sparked an idea in Su Cheng's mind, and her eyes lit up.

'Yes!'

'Yes, maybe it was Yi Wanjing who couldn't have children, not her!'

"Tang Li! What the hell are you talking about! Who are you talking about?"

Yi Wanjing flushed crimson at the accusation, his finger pointed indignantly at Tang Li as she angrily retorted....
