Chapter - 73 - Xiaoyu

Tang Li rushed over, and as soon as she met Lin Zhenya, she couldn't contain her excitement. She blurted out loudly, "Mom!"

Lin Zhenya examined her daughter up and down with tear-filled eyes and expressed her concern, "Hey! Why are you back today? What happened to your face? Did someone hurt you?"

She hadn't seen her daughter for more than half a year and here she was all beaten up.

Tang Li quickly reassured her, "Mom, it's not like that. My face is just a bit dirty from the trip. I'm not hurt."

Lin Zhenya couldn't help but feel guilty, and she held Tang Li's hand tightly, saying, "Li'er, it's your parent's fault for being incompetent. I'm sorry for letting you marry into a family where you've been mistreated. You should come back! We'll return the bride price they gave... Yes! You should return home; your man hasn't come back yet..."

The more Lin Zhenya thought about it, the tighter she clutched Tang Li's hand. She was determined to make her daughter come back home.

"Mom! No need, my husband is back. He is very kind to me, and we will live separately from now on." Tang Li heard Lin Zhenya's words and her heart was warm.

Tang Li appreciated her mother's love, but she knew that life was hard, and her younger brother was sick and frail, which left her parents with no choice but to marry her off.

"You mean this is the Yi family's youngest child?" Lin Zhenya looked at Yi Minghuan, her eyes widening in surprise.

She couldn't believe her eyes as she asked, "Li'er, are you not lying to me? Didn't everyone say that the Lin family's third child is small and frail... a bit...?"

'Slow!'

The last part was observed by Yi Minghuan, who remained silent as Lin Zhenya stopped herself. However, she was still too shocked to completely recover.

This situation differed from the one conveyed by the matchmaker and the information she had gathered earlier!

"Mom, Minghuan has changed a lot during the years he was away!" Tang Li tugged at her mother's arm to bring her back to reality and explained to Yi Minghuan.

"You've changed so much that you've surprised my mother. Please don't mind."

Yi Minghuan shook his head, smiled at Lin Zhenya, and respectfully addressed her as "Mom."

"Hey!" Lin Zhenya responded with happiness, finally believing her daughter.

She stared at Yi Minghuan for a while before alternating between tears and laughter, saying, "Alright, alright, it's wonderful that you're back. Li'er said you treat her well, and I believe it. I hope you'll continue to be good to my daughter in the future. She's been through so much..."

Yi Minghuan nodded and quickly responded, feeling overwhelmed by his mother-in-law's affection.

"Sister, sister, when did you come back? I thought I'd never see you again!" Tang Yu rushed towards Tang Li, hugged her tightly, and expressed his happiness and longing.

"I didn't come to see you for a while xiaoyu and you've grown taller," Tang Li said as she caressed his head, smiling warmly.

Tang Li's heart softened after being hugged by him, she raised her hand to caress the top of his head, and said with a gentle smile.

Tang Yu, her 12-year-old younger brother, rarely left the house due to his illness. His stature was small, his body was frail, and his mind was simple. Although he was 12 years old he resembled an 8 or 9-year-old.

"Sister, Mom and Dad said you got married to find a doctor for me. Woooo... I don't want to see a doctor anymore. Come back, I miss you. Please don't leave me, okay?" Tang Yu sobbed with teary eyes.

Tang Li was deeply moved by her younger brother's tears. She wiped them away and reassured him, "I didn't get married just to find a doctor for you, xiaoyu. Don't cry. I'll come back to see you often in the future."

"Xiaoyu, don't cry. You'll have trouble breathing if you cry so much," Lin Zhenya urged her son, pulling him close. "We don't have money for medicine. Be good.".....
