Chapter - 78 - Sowing Discord

Tang Li couldn't hide her disgust at Xiao Ru's audacious behavior.

She wore a cold expression as she retorted, "My husband treats other women with appropriate respect. I don't see any reason to complain for his behaviour towards unknown woman. Xiao'ru, do you expect him to be all smiles and attentive to every woman he meets? He's my husband!"

Xiao Ru's face flushed with shame as she stared at Tang Li with a mix of surprise and anger.

She spoke with a tone of injured innocence, "Tang Li, when I said that, I meant it in a friendly way. Doesn't everyone show kindness and warmth to others? Or maybe you don't think one should do that? How could you say that me?!"

Tang Li, her tone cool, replied, "Oh, I must have misunderstood. As long as you didn't mean anything else."

The other man chimed in, noticing the tension. He wanted to move the heat from Xiao Ru, "You can see that Tang Li has changed a lot. She used to be different and had a great relationship with us. Whenever she met Mo Jing, she had such a warm smile."

Xiao Ru bit her lip and fixed her gaze on Mo Jing. "Could it be that you did something to make Tang Li sad before? She doesn't want to talk to us anymore?"

Tang Li's face grew even colder as she heard Xiao Ru's attempts to sow discord.

She was about to respond, but before she could, Mo Jing, with a scowl of disgust, firmly interjected, "Xiao Ru, stop spreading baseless rumors! Tang Li and I haven't had much interaction. What could I have done to make her sad?"

"Her husband is right here. Why are you insinuating something that could lead to a misunderstanding that we have an inappropriate relationship?"

Tang Li was quick to rein in her emotions as she heard Mo Jing's stern words. She knew that this person harbored animosity towards the previous owner and had a sharp, somewhat arrogant temper. He wanted to avoid trouble and speculation at all costs.

"That's right, Xiao'ru, you can't say things like that. Tang Li's husband is right here, and you're falsely accusing Mo Jing and Tang Li," Li Xia, another educated youth who was on the plump side, chimed in, her brow furrowing in disapproval.

"Xiao'ru, please be more considerate. You shouldn't say such things," Tang Li added. She lowered her head, feigning sadness and choking back imaginary sobs. "You've made accusations against my reputation even though my husband has finally returned home, that too right in front of him."

Yi Minghuan, with his patience wearing thin, adopted a stern tone.

His gaze as sharp as knives was fixed on Xiao Ru and stated firmly, "You will apologize to my wife and me immediately."

"I..I..." Xiao Ru was on the verge of exploding. It was obvious that Tang Li was fond of Mo Jing, who had reservations about her, but Tang Li was pretending to be sad and even crying!

She considered blurting out the whole belt incident, but after some thought, she realized that the current situation was entirely unfavorable to her.

Even if she revealed the truth, both Mo Jing and Tang Li would deny it at this point, and Yi Minghuan wouldn't believe her.

'Hold on, endure, endure!'

She decided to bide her time, planning to find a way to prove that Tang Li was indeed infatuated with Mo Jing. That's when she'd reveal Tang Li's infidelity, ultimately exacting her revenge.

Xiao Ru took a deep breath, her eyes welling up with tears, as she uttered, "I'm sorry. I spoke without thinking. I apologize for my words."

Tang Li glanced at her but refrained from forgiving her. Instead, she turned to Yi Minghuan and said, "Take me home, please. I don't want to walk back alone."

Tang Li was determined to ignore Xiao Ru completely. She wanted Xiao Ru to witness how considerate Yi Minghuan was toward her, fanning the flames of her envy.

Yi Minghuan nodded in agreement and, with graceful ease, mounted the bicycle. Before setting off, he leaned in close and asked tenderly, "Are you ready?"

"Okay," Tang Li responded as she sat down and reached out to embrace Yi Minghuan's waist affectionately. "Let's go.".....
