Chapter - 79 - Swearing Sovereignty

When Tang Li hugged Yi Minghuan from behind, his body immediately tensed. He inclined his head slightly, meeting her gaze just in time. When he saw her blinking at him, he instantly understood her intention.

'Ah, His wife was asserting her sovereignty!'

An unfamiliar feeling welled up in Yi Minghuan's heart. He gazed deeply into her eyes, then turned his head, kicked the bike into motion, and they sped off into the distance.

Xiao Ru, left behind, stared at the departing couple with a mix of envy and resentment. She bit her lip, her eyes welling up with jealousy, determined to expose Tang Li's true colors.

In her mind, Tang Li was merely a foolish, fat and unattractive girl, and she couldn't comprehend why Yi Minghuan would be interested in her.

She thought he must be blind, utterly blind!

"Tang Li looks different this time, more assertive and lively," Li Xia remarked in surprise. "Mo Jing, did you notice that?"

Mo Jing responded curtly, "No," before carrying a hoe and walking away.

Of course, he had noticed Tang Li's change. In the past, when she looked at him, her cheeks would flush with embarrassment, and her eyes would be filled with affection. But today, all he saw in her gaze was scrutiny and indifference.

It was like she was a completely different person!

However, Mo Jing had no intention of delving into her change. If she wanted to stop having feelings for him, he was more than fine with that.

It would save him a lot of trouble!

After dinner, Tang Li noticed that it was only 7:00 p.m. and she felt restless.

Resting or sleeping at this hour was out of the question for her!

"Hey, Yi Minghuan, I'm thinking of going to the infirmary to see Uncle Wang and then learn some medical skills from Uncle Zhang. How about you stay home and study?" Tang Li suggested to Yi Minghuan.

Yi Minghuan agreed, saying, "Sure, go ahead. Just make sure to come back by 8:30. Uncle Zhang also needs his rest."

Tang Li packed her things, taking along the clothes Auntie Zhang had lent to her, as well as some medical books she had found at the scrap yard earlier that day. She happily set off for the infirmary.

She had made up her mind to learn acupuncture point recognition and basic acupuncture techniques from Uncle Zhang. This would pave the way for her to perform acupuncture on herself as part of her weight loss plan, eliminating the need to hide it from Yi Minghuan.

She felt exhausted by the constant need for secrecy and subterfuge.

Walking into the infirmary, Tang Li greeted Uncle Wang with a smile, inquiring about his health. She suggested having dinner with him the next day, and Uncle Wang's face lit up with joy.

She thought a bit and then suggested that they would come and pick him up at noon tomorrow and later they could have dinner. 

Uncle Wang's cheerful smile never stopped after hearing her.

"It's good for you to live together. Brother Wang now has someone to take care of him," Doctor Zhang noticed with a smile.

Tang Li nodded with a smile, and after a brief chat, she presented the medical books she'd found. "Uncle Zhang, Yi Minghuan and I went to town today and visited the waste station. We found some books. How good are these medical books? Do they seem suitable for me to study?"

Dr. Zhang took the books, glanced through them, and said with a warm smile, "You have good judgment. These medical books are foundational building and ideal for your studies. If you ever have any questions, don't hesitate to ask me."

Tang Li expressed her gratitude happily. She then pretended to look curious and asked innocently, "Uncle Zhang, do you know acupuncture? I'd love to learn it. Look, I've got all these books! I've read that acupuncture can treat various ailments without the need for medication. It sounds amazing!"

Doctor Zhang smiled, taking the acupuncture book from her hands. "I can identify acupuncture points and know some basic acupuncture techniques, but I haven't had much practical experience. I'm not sure if I can teach you properly."

Tang Li, with a hopeful glint in her eyes, insisted, "Uncle Zhang, you can just teach me how to recognize the acupuncture points. I can practice the needling part on myself!".....
