Your Company is Out of Line!

The next day, Friday, around 3:30 in the afternoon.

Outside the grand Shengjing Haoyuan building, a woman in her early thirties, dressed professionally, named Yu Xiaorang, stepped out of a rideshare vehicle and walked straight to the reception desk.

The receptionist, noticing her attire, greeted her proactively, "Hello, ma'am. Do you have an appointment?"

"24th floor, Xplendi Entertainment Media." After a quick registration at the front desk, Yu Xiaorang briskly walked to the elevator and pressed the button.

Yesterday, after being rather rudely hung up on by Yang Ruoqian, Yu Xiaorang felt a brief flash of anger. Did Yang Ruoqian think that 1.5 million for a "transfer fee" was too low? Was he trying to bite off more than he could chew?

Although a female broadcaster with two or three hundred thousand followers could indeed generate significant revenue, it wasn't grounds for such excessive demands.

As for Yang Ruoqian's mention of no penalties for breaches and no overtime, Yu Xiaorang dismissed it as nonsense. Even the large Tianyue Media wouldn't be so confident about retaining its broadcasters, and small companies like Xplendi Group would have even more performance pressures.

However, this morning, when she heard about another Xplendi Group broadcaster "Macho Dancer" becoming an overnight sensation, she decided to swallow her pride and personally visit Xplendi Group to discuss matters face-to-face with Yang Ruoqian.

This company was exceptional!

Yu Xiaorang researched Xplendi Group and discovered it was newly established, yet in just a month, they had introduced two broadcasters: "Yun Nai" and "Macho Dancer."

Coincidence? Highly unlikely.

It suggested that Xplendi Group likely comprised seasoned professionals, possibly split from a larger company.

Ding!

Lost in thought, she arrived at the 24th floor. Yu Xiaorang took a moment to compose herself and approached the company's reception.

"Hello, I'm Yu Xiaorang from Tianyue Entertainment. I have an appointment with Mr. Yang this afternoon."

As Yu Xiaorang took in the surroundings, she was taken aback. The receptionist was professional, and the security guard seemed familiar. But the working environment... was this a joke?

Which company designates such a large portion of their office space for entertainment? Is this a workplace or an amusement park? Who could focus on work in such an environment? Is this company too indulgent?

If not for Yu Xiaorang's professional demeanor, she would've shown her disbelief.

The recently hired former 4s shop saleswoman, Lu Shuyue, handed her a registration form with a gentle tone, "Ms. Yu, please sign here and provide your contact details."

After signing, Lu Shuyue directed her, "Go straight ahead and take a right at the end. That's Mr. Yang's office."

"Thank you."

As Yu Xiaorang walked to Yang Ruoqian's office, she saw Huang Rushi in the entertainment room, playing "Just Dance" on a Switch. The sight was... less than pleasant.

So, this was the "Macho Dancer"? And Xplendi Group really allowed their employees to play games during working hours?!

Despite Huang Rushi seemingly preparing for a live dance broadcast, there was no camera around him, nor any supervision. Today he's playing "Just Dance," but who's to say he won't be playing "The Legend of Zelda" tomorrow?

Was such indulgence towards employees really acceptable?

Yu Xiaorang, her moral compass slightly shaken, took a few seconds to calm herself before knocking on the door of Yang Ruoqian's office.

Knock, knock, knock.

"Miss Yu Xiaorang, right? Please, come in," Yang Ruoqian's steady voice sounded from inside.

To be honest, Yang Ruoqian was somewhat exasperated with this persistent "competitor" employee. He had already explained that his broadcasters didn't have any transfer fees, yet she seemed not to believe him.

"Mr. Yang, I apologize for the rushed conversation yesterday afternoon," Yu Xiaorang said with a very polite demeanor as she stood in front of Yang Ruoqian's desk. "But I genuinely want to finalize our collaboration."

Yang Ruoqian almost facepalmed, "I told you yesterday, there's nothing to discuss."

Seeing Yang Ruoqian's reaction, Yu Xiaorang felt this was going to be a tough negotiation. She couldn't gauge his expectations or attitude. His poker face was impeccable, making him incredibly hard to read, even for someone like her, who had been in the broadcasting industry for a decade.

Twice she tried to negotiate, and twice she left without any valuable information.

"We are willing to offer 6 million to sign both 'Yun Nai' and 'Macho Dancer'," Yu Xiaorang bit the bullet, laying out the most generous terms within her authority, "Additionally, 5% of their future earnings will go to your company, and if we incur any losses, your company bears no responsibility."

To be honest, this was a very generous offer.

Yu Xiaorang couldn't believe any company would refuse such a massive cash influx!

"You seem to have misunderstood from the very beginning," Yang Ruoqian put down his pen and said earnestly, "I've been speaking to you face-to-face, there's no need for games."

Yu Xiaorang was taken aback, her composure crumbling into sheer bewilderment.

"What did you think when I told you to ask the broadcasters themselves? That I was shirking responsibility or hiking up the price?" Yang Ruoqian checked the time and continued, "Did you think I kept saying there's nothing to discuss because I was trying to raise the price?"

"No, in our company, everything is based on the individual's wishes."

"Both broadcasters are just a few meters away. You could have consulted them directly before discussing with me."

Yu Xiaorang felt as if she was listening to a mythical story.

So, in your company, it's encouraged to bypass the boss and discuss job switches directly with the broadcasters?

At that moment, Chang Zhijing entered the room, "Boss, it's been a minute since we're off work. Why haven't you left?"

"Coming, coming."

Yang Ruoqian quickly packed his things and said apologetically to a stunned Yu Xiaorang, "I have a gathering to prepare for tomorrow, so the entire company is leaving an hour early today. I forgot to inform you. Sorry about that."

"Let's discuss further next week. Goodbye!"

With that, Yang Ruoqian left the office, quickly disappearing from sight.

As she looked at the now deserted Xplendi Entertainment office, Yu Xiaorang felt her worldview was profoundly challenged.

Wait, so no one in your company actually works overtime?

It's a project worth a full 6 million!

Isn't anyone willing to work a little longer and improve their performance?

What kind of unbelievable company is this?
