FOUR CENTS

"Your vitals seem stable," the doctor folded her stethoscope around her neck. "You can take your leave now."

"Thank you so much, doctor," my dad expressed his gratitude. "You've done so much for my family, and I appreciate it."

"You're welcome, Mr. Noah," Mrs. Stuart said. "And please, keep your daughter away from trouble." Mrs. Stuart left the hospital room.

"Guess who survived death?" Hannah jumped in joy and hugged me. "I missed you so much,"

"Missed you too, Hannah," I said, embracing Hannah.

"Let me put your things in my car," Emily said. "I'm sick of the aesthetic smell of this hospital anyway." She packed my clothes in a bag and went out of the room.

When Hannah finally let me out of her embrace, my father kissed me on my forehead and said, "I missed you, kiddo."

"Did you pray for me?" I asked

"I did," My dad said, turning to Henry, who was at the door. "That young man prayed more than all of us."

I looked at Henry and smiled.
