*Alistair*
‘Something is wrong, I can feel it,’ Alistair thought distressingly.
It had been a week since he had met the contractors who would be working with him and Daphne to begin construction on the project of the new homes.
The meeting itself was productive and highly enthusiastic. However, the moment he had returned home to tell his wife about it, Alistair felt a shift in the air.
Usually, Daphne wanted to know all the details of the conversation. Christ, he would have taken her with him, but he knew that she was deeply missing her best friend. Not to mention the two of them had been working non-stop since their return from Italy—the woman deserved a break!
He got home that evening to find Daphne in a bit of haze...
She couldn’t keep her eyes focused and her balance seemed off. Alistair caught her on several occasions with her face in her hands as if her head had become too heavy to hold up.
