Shooting (chapter 49)

Somewhere far,the weather was nice for a shooting outdoors,crew members stood far from the sceen where the main lead and female lead were shooting their sceen,its been few days since the shooting began they had already familiarised themselves with each other,the director held a microphone on his hand ready to direct the actors,the camera were set ready for his signal,strangely the air was tensed and the director seemed so annoyed "one ....two...three....start" he said,Sandra held a man in her hands his body covered with blood,eyes half opened blood on the corner of his mouth,with tears in her eyes she shouted "Pascal wake up,please wake up don't do this.....*sob*....to me" she said with trembling hands she placed her hand on his wound "CUT" the director shouted, everyone's eyes were on him,he looked at Sandra like he was about to curse her,if he was an anime smoke would be seen coming from his ears "miss Sandra.... what's the meaning of this?where are your emotions?all I see is just tears, I can't feel the devastation in your voice of someone who is holding her lover who got shot,all I hear is just your shouting nothing more,this is the fifth retake of this scene,do you think we got all the time?why can't you make it right it's just a simple sceen" he said angrily,what he hated the most was wasting time,he had disagreed on making her the female lead but after much persuasion he agreed but now he regreted his decision,Sandra kept quite not daring to say a word lest he angered the man to death,she was tempted to speak back at him but she knew it would make things worse,it was her fault for not satisfying the director's demand,if she was to be asked she would say her performance was good almost to perfection but the director was unsatisfied with her performance and he had the final say.

"Take ten minutes break,if you fail to perform well we will shoot another sceen" he said and stood up to leave,the crew members eyes were on her,some were looking at her mockingly while other looked at her with pity,some had worked with the director before and they all knew how demanding the director was,the main lead was a handsome man with blonde hair,he was well know for the movies he had been casted on,he was good because of his talent and experience in the industry,when he had received the news that he will be casted together with Kate's daughter he was very excited, everyone knew Kate and how her performance was perfect but know he didn't know what to say,he stood up dissapointment written all over his face and turned to leave his secretary behind him.To say Sandra was embarrassed was understatement she felt humiliated,she bit her lower lip and looked around her not even a single person had gone forward to encourage her,she turned and left heading to the dressing room "ma'am are you okay?" asked her secretary handing her a bottle of water,Sandra threw the water bottle on the ground angrily "do I look okay to you?" she asked "I'm sorry" she apologised "don't worry, I believe your next performance will be good,the director will be sorry for saying such harsh words to you" she said trying to comfort her, Sandra sized her up "who are you to comment on my business? you're nothing but just a mere secretary just do what I pay you to do....GET OUT" she said,her secretary didn't waste a minute she quickly bolted out of there lest her madam took her anger out of her.Sandra took her phone and dialled a number "hello mom" she called with teary eyes her voice cracking "what's wrong?why are you crying?did someone bully you?" she bombard her with questions "no mom *sniff* it's just that the director is so overbearing,he even lectured me infront of everyone" she complained,her mother sighed "it's okay dear,sometime the directors can be a pain in your neck,but you have to try harder,forget about everything and become one with your character,what sceen were you shooting?" Sandra explained the sceen to her mother "the sceen is easy,just imagine it's your boyfriend Jack who has been shoot how would you feel?how would you react?.....it might be just a movie but to you as an actor you have to make everything look realistic, concentrate on your emotions so when someone is watching the movie she will be able to feel your pain through the screen" she advised,Sandra wiped her tears with the back of her hand "thanks mom" she said a smile on her face "that's my girl,give everything you got I'm rooting for you" she said and hung up, Sandra's smile widened she felt confident and couldn't wait to show her performance but what she didn't know was that someone had been listening to the whole conversation and without even making the the tiniest noise,the person turned to leave.

The director sat on a couch with a juice in his hand "director take it easy,you can't be harsh with her...she is just a rookie" said a man "why shouldn't I be angry,I understand she is a rookie but why does she keep on messing things if she isn't forgetting her lines,she is mixing her lines from different sceens and even her performance isn't good we're wasting alot of time shooting her sceens,she is the worst actress have worked with" he complained gulping the juice angrily like it was Sandra,the man sighed he had worked with the director for many years and he knew how picky he was when it come to choosing the actors for a role in his movie,he was well known and his movies are always on top of the charts that's why he hardly tolerated continuous mistakes "give her a chance" the man said "Samuel what chance?we are here for work not training....if she knew she wasn't well prepared she should have said so we would have used the actress who I had choosen for this role,anyway I just hope she improves because it's not only me she is dragging down even the other crew members will be affected if this keeps going on" he said and the man nodded his head,there was nothing else left to say he just hoped Sandra won't dissapoint them yet again.Ten minutes were over and the shooting began, luckily this time Sandra's performance was good even the director was a little pleased,they shoot more screens for the day and at eveving everything was done,Sandra had improved alot with minimal mistakes though it wasn't perfect it was good, everyone sighed in relief and left to rest it had been a hectic day for everyone of them.

Days went by with the shooting going on smoothly and so was Lucas and Jennie's relationship they often flirted with each other though none had confessed anything one would tell their love for each other was slowly blooming,Lucas resumed his work and Jennie stayed at home,her baby bump was showing and her pregnancy was becoming difficult but with the help of the housekeeper and Lucas' support she was managing well,there was something else all over the news,news were all over the media "Alpha company gone bankrupt" all these and different kind of articles were on the internet,mr Tristan who owned the company had not commented anything regarding the matter,he well knew the one behind his company's bankruptcy but he couldn't do anything about it,days turned into months and Lucas' birthday was approaching.
