Feeling devastated (chapter 51)

Jennie's opened her eyes wide open fronzen like a statue,she didn't blink or even dare to breath her mind blank,for a second she thought Lucas' lips on her's was an illusion,she stared at Lucas who was kissing her his eyes closed,Lucas was nervous as hell as if facing prosecution,his heart beating wildly and his hands folded to a tight fist,he didn't have the guts to confess his feeling and maybe because he was tipsy he got the courage to act on his feelings using a kiss to convey the message,coming to her sense Jennie pushed Lucas,that push was able to bring Lucas to his sense,he stared at her panicked "I'm..." but he couldn't finish his sentence,Jennie stared at him like she wanted to tear him to pieces,her eyes full of anger,pain and hatred,Lucas gulped hard a cold sweat dripping on his forehead,the look Jenni gave him broke him to a million pieces,he had never seen Jennie with such look,he wanted to explain and apologize but his mouth couldn't form words,he got anxious and scared, anxious for what will happen and scared of being rejected.Tears welled up in her eyes,she wanted to curse,scream out loud to relief herself from the pain residing inside of her,she wanted to slap Lucas for what he had done,she wanted to laugh at her pitiful self but she couldn't, only tears come from her eyes,why? was the question playing in her mind,Lucas couldn't handle her sad and tormented look he quickly stood up and left without looking back,what did he expect that he would kiss her and she will happily kiss him back just like in kdrama when male lead kisses the female lead before confessing.

Lucas drove his car with no destination in mind,he just drove like the driving dependent on his life, everytime he recalled the look on Jennie's face after the kiss he felt like his heart was pierced with a million poisonous needles and slowly the poison was spreading on his entire body intensifying his heartache,he felt all kind of emotions anger,pain,guilt,self-loathing all these emotions were making feel like he was been torn apart.After driving for an hour he parked his car at STAR club,a place he has never been before,he got off the car and headed inside,the loud music and noise made him feel like his head was about to burst open but he didn't care all he cared for was how to get rid of the choking feeling he felt,going to the counter he booked a Vip room and headed upstairs,having not received such a big shot for a long time the attendants gave him the best room,the room wasn't flashy but it was manageable,they tried their best to please the customer "sir do you need company?we can arrange the best for you" the manager said with a wide smile on his face,after receiving news a big shot was in their club the manager decided to serve him personally,Lucas understood his meaning and he wasn't pleased,he lifted his head and stared at the man his eyes cold,the manager gulped hard and without being told he quickly left.Bottle after bottle Lucas gulped all the beer he was served,there were several bottle lying on the floor empty he felt drunk but he kept on drinking,to him what was better way to temporally get rid of your sorrows than drinking,he was using the beer's bitterness to get rid of his own bitterness, with all the beer finished he leaned on the couch his eyes unfocussed,his heart filled with undescribable heartache,a tear dropped from the corner of his eyes slowly rolling to the side of his ear,he felt devastated.

Jennie sat on the couch in the living room,she felt worried and anxious every passing minute she would look at the clock and feel her chest tighten,it was already 4:00am and Lucas wasn't back,when Lucas had kissed him she was shocked and out of reflex he pushed him,now that she had calmed down she didn't know what she felt,she didn't dislike the kiss but there were alot of unanswered questions in her mind,she didn't know why Lucas choose to leave without a word,was he regretting it?did he kiss me because he was drunk?was it because of gratitude or did he mistake me for someone else these questions couldn't stop running in her mind.To her she thought Lucas loving someone like her was impossible,she took her phone and dialled Lucas' number,the call didn't go through his phone was switched off, remembering the hurt, confused and shattered look Lucas had before leaving her heart couldn't calm down,she sent him a couple of messages just incase he switched on his phone,she didn't know his friends who might have helped her reach to him and she didn't want to disturb the old man so late at night,the only person who could help her was the housekeeper but she wasn't around, defeated she lied on the couch.

Jennie heard the door bell ring for a couple of times,she slowly opened her eyes,she didn't know when she had fallen asleep, thinking it was Lucas she quickly stood up and opened the door but to her dismay it wasn't Lucas but the houskeeper,seeing the look on her face and the same outfit Jennie had worn last night the housekeeper frowned "Jennie" she called concerned,Jennie forced a smile "you're back?" she asked, feeling her question was a bit silly she cleared her throat "morning" she greeted,the housekeeper didn't respond she just stood at the door looking at Jennie "what's wrong?" she asked concern written all over her face,the way Jennie looked tired and still wore the same outfit she could guess something was wrong "nothing" Jennie said.The housekeeper walked inside "where is Lucas?" she asked,Jennie just looked at her without saying a word "did you have a fight?" she asked Jennie didn't respond confirming her guess,the housekeeper sighed "you should take a shower I'll prepare your breakfast" she said,Jennie wanted to refuse but the houskeeper gave her a look that said I won't take no for an answer,Jennie nodded her head and headed upstairs,the houskeeper watched her leave her eyes gentle and tender.

Lucas woke up with a terrible headache and hangover,he was still in the Vip room in the same position he was before he feel asleep, rubbing his eyes he took out his phone only to realised he had switched it off, massaging his temple he switched it on and for unknown reason he felt anxious.Looking at his phone's screen Lucas was shocked,it was 9:00am, there were message notification poping-up on his phone, knowing who had sent the messages he didn't dare to read them,he leaned his head on the couch not knowing what to do,suddenly he heard his phone ring,looking at the caller's id he hesitated for a while before picking the call "morning Lucas" the housekeeper greeted "morning" Lucas replied "where are you?" but Lucas didn't reply "Lucas I don't know what happened between you and Jennie but you should come back,she stayed up all night and she isn't in a good state, whatever happened between you two you should resolve it, don't forget she is pregnant she needs someone by her side" she said and hung up.Lucas closed his eyes feeling guilty,he had completely forgotten Jennie was pregnant and made her stay up all night,not delaying for a second he quickly took his car key and run downstairs, luckily there were no people in the club only staff who were cleaning,at a maximum speed he drove his car heading towards his villa,his headache was worsening but he didn't care he wanted to reach his villa as soon as possible,I should have been understanding,why didn't I consider her feelings?why did I leave her alone in the house?what if something bad had happened? Lucas couldn't stop thinking.Parking his car he hurriedly walked heading to his villa, he rung the door bell and after a while the housekeeper opened the door for him "she is in your room" she said.Standing infornt of their bedroom Lucas felt anxious,his hearbeat increasing, after hesitating for a while he knocked on the door,Jennie who had taken a shower and changed her clothes felt a little better,she was seated on the couch lost in thoughts when she heard a knock on the door,she stood up and opened the door,Jennie opened her eyes in shock,her heart thumping against her ribcage "Lucas" she called but before Lucas could say anything Jennie hugged him tears in her eyes.
