A Traumatized Bird

The next day, Toby went to school and got there at 8:50am, to his surprise Eva was there already. She normally came late.

"Hello Mr. Crybaby." Eva snickered as Toby sat down next to her.

On their walk back from the market Eva kept teasing him about being a crybaby and an "ugly" crier until they parted ways. That contributed to his profound annoyance.

"At least I'm capable of getting high grades." Toby said crossing his arms.

"I'm able to get good grades." Eva retorted angrily.

"Spell simultaneous."

As Toby said this, Eva froze up and crossed her arms angrily. Eva did know a lot more than Toby.. in some areas. She knows a lot from her multiple experiences, but when it comes to school work, lets just say that most of the answer sheets she gets are blank.

"Hey what happened to that math book that you always read?" Eva asked.

"My mom confiscated it. And I can't even fight to get the book back, cause if I do then I'll get more chores." Toby said sadly while Eva wondered how taking away a workbook was a punishment. To her that would be the best thing ever.

During this history class, the children learned about the different proprietors of the underground and the different oppositions with them, except for our favorite duo. One was reading some random textbook about the land above, while the other was day dreaming of eating food, specifically, eclairs. And as usual, one of the two was picked on by the teacher and sent to the corner. By now the corner was like Toby's second home.

Near the end of school, the two were walking out together and Eva started to talk about the parrot's cast.

"So, I'll near precise measurements for the wing so that the cast can fit." Toby nodded.

"We have limited supplies so we will need to be careful." Toby nodded.

"So bring me a knife." Toby nodded, then snapped his head towards her.

"Calm down, it's for the cast, and it's not like I'll hurt anyone." Eva said crossing her arms, and Toby felt relieved.

"Not yet." Eva said with a sinister look and Toby sighed.

At 4:30pm when Toby reached the alleyway, he saw Eva chasing the parrot while she held a ruler. Once the parrot spotted Toby it stopped running and flared out its left wing. It was as if the poor bird knew it was out-numbered.

Eva knelt down to take the measurements and after she was done Toby knelt down next to her. He put the parrot's daily dose of seeds on the floor, and the once rebellious parrot started chugging down the seeds at an alarming rate. This gruesome scene left the kids in shock and disbelief.

"I think we... traumatized the parrot." Toby said weakly as he turned his head to Eva.

"Ya think." Eva replied.
