"Scared that you will be next, Chester?" questioned Lemiel with a taunting look, which made the councilmen grow more wary. "There is nothing to fear, our former chancellor didn't die in vain."

A few older councilmen looked at Lemiel with narrowed eyes, suspicion evident on their faces as if they already had an idea what happened to the chancellor. It wasn't a secret that the duke had some screws loose in his head and his ways of dealing with things were far from conventional.
"You speak as if you couldn't care less about Mr. Moore. You seem to be better informed than the rest of us, Duke Lemiel. Did you perhaps kill the chancellor?" asked a pure-blooded vampire who was a senior councilman and had been working for the council even before Lemiel took the position.
