Sienna's eyes widened when she recognized Lemiel's voice. What was he doing here?
She took a step forward before turning around. The vampire's crooked smile met her wary eyes. He stood tall and proud in his black tailored coat, staring at her with an amused expression. The wayward wind made a few locks of his hair fall above his eyebrows.
"Follow me," he instructed briefly before turning away and walking towards the carriage parked not too far away.
She watched as the vampire climbed onto the stool the coachman had readied for him. Though she didn't know what he needed from her, she wondered if it was her blood he came for. After all, he not only liked its taste but had also discovered what her blood could do. The thought only brought worry to her heart.
When she climbed inside the carriage, she found Lemiel sitting beside the window, humming softly.
Holding her skirt, she sat quietly across from him. Her hands rested on her lap, her back straight.
