Chapter 12

Han's eyes uncaring gaze turned toward Amomonga, observing his every move carefully, from his change of expression to his body language. Amomonga quickly noticed this sudden change and easily kept his composure.

Amomonga placed both his hands on the table and met Han's gaze. "What are you trying to say exactly?" Han seeing that Amomonga managed to keep his composure, turned his eyes back to the scroll on the table; "Isn't it quite weird that one of the disciples of a supreme deity as yourself decided to not only break territory conduct but also bolted his way out of the cave without saying a word?"

Amomonga knew exactly what he was talking about. He indeed received a different story from what Han's team concluded as what happened. That disciple of his may be stupid at times but, he knows not to lie about such a thing as a heavenly being, killed by that crystal. Amomonga debated whether or not it would be a good idea to tell this crucial detail, but knowing that it could put his disciple on trial, he decided to keep it to himself now.

Perhaps that was also what Han thought was the true story, but seeing he could not get Amomonga to say it himself, he decided not to ponder on it any longer.

Han deeply sighed to himself rolled the scroll back and placed his back into his inventory. If Amomonga was a lower rank than him he could've used many ways to get the truth out of him but as they are both supreme beings in the heavenly realm all he could do was hope for him to slip up and reveal it.

Amomonga relaxed his posture and said, "Let us just put this matter aside since the investigations are still going, let us get to the most important part of this meeting," Han looked at him for a few seconds hoping he could see even a tinge of emotion in Amomonga's face, only to be met by a blank expression. He found it weird that the only times Amomonga would even show the tiniest bit of emotion was when it was related to Ena.

Han then placed his palm on the table, he brought out a tiny portion of his power on the table. The round table has now turned into a smoky visual image of a map. It showed all 5 Regions, each village and city detail present on the map.

"Have they made any progress in your territory?" Han asked, Amomonga then brought his hand to the table and swiped his hand until the visual image zoomed into a land named Solja. A land composed of mostly soil biomes and forests, and also located in Region 2. It was the very land he governs on. He then pointed his finger toward Region 3. It was a big part of the map but based on that it was a complete desert biome.

"I've sent countless of my subjects to reclaim that land. But for some reason, none of them has ever come back."

Amomonga himself had always wanted to just do the job himself but as the law of not harming mortals also applies to him, he has never dared to argue against the laws of the realm. Han himself knew this, even for him, a part of his territory was being occupied by what they know are mortal beings.

"It's hard to believe that such forces are composed of mortals when hundreds of our men have already fallen," Han mumbled dejectedly. "Have you had any news on Region 1?" Amomonga asked, "No, their ruler still refuses to make any contact."

"If this continues, region 3 will gain more power as the year progresses, if that were to happen, even our power as rulers will be threatened."

Han simply gave a look at Amomonga after hearing those words, Amomonga caught this sudden glance, "There is a way, you know that right?" Han said he made sure not to say much details of what he meant as he did not want anyone else to hear it.

Amomonga seemed conflicted on deciding, he knows well that what Han had just said is not a question whether or not he knows but if he is willing to do it with him. Amomonga thought back to the numerous officials and men he had already sent to the 3rd region in hopes of reclaiming it, since that strategy had failed for over 1,000 years now, he no longer wanted to waste the lives of his people.

As the law of the realm simply states that a heavenly being is not allowed to harm a mortal, it also states that any mortal who breaks any taboo, the supreme beings of the realm can come down to the mortal realm themselves and handle the affair.

Taboos such as revival, creation, and the killing or sealing of a heavenly being. The two of them already know so well the taboo of sealing a being from the heavenly realm, as Ena Deity of Water, herself was sealed by a human 300 years ago, and till this very day, anybody from the heavenly realm has still yet to find the culprit. Many believe that the said suspect had already passed on as numerous officials had come to the Path of the Dead themselves, asking Lord Mayari himself who governs the path if the said culprit had already passed through. As the Lord himself refused to interact as much to heavenly affairs he refused to even say anything to his visitors and chased them away from the path as they bothered the souls passing through.

All they know is that Ena is still yet to be unsealed from a random river in the 5th region. Despite being sealed in the river, she is still yet to make an appearance for over 300 years, many rumors have already roamed around the realm, some saying that she was sealed by a mortal lover. This however became a huge taboo statement as Amomonga took no hesitation and publicly announced to beat anyone who would say such blasphemy regarding Ena. Since no being in the heavenly realm would want to go against a supreme being, the rumors died down but are still present in the minds of many.

Now that the crystal in that cave near the river broke free from the chains and talismans placed on it, Amomonga could not help but wonder if Ena herself was released as well, but seeing no movement or anything from her side, he refused to expect anything and just end up disappointing himself.

"This is where we should conclude our meeting-"

As Han was just about to head out Amomonga called out to him, "I have something to tell you,"

"About what?"

"The crystal."
