Garnet POV

She stood silent in his arms, hoping that her legs held her up because they’d just turned to water.

This was Jiro. He didn’t say things on a whim, or do MOST things on a whim. He considered every word that came out of his mouth. That didn’t mean he was cold and calculating. It just meant he thought about every possible scenario.

Except becoming her mate, and the best one she could have ever hoped for.

Except becoming Alpha, and not only that, someone people in her pack loved and respected. She’d seen it today in those children’s faces. She’d seen or heard about it over the last few weeks every single time Jiro interacted with their people, no matter if it was with the council, the other Alphas and Betas that visited, or with Sarina’s daughter Selene. Or, according to Sarina, a chatterbox fisherman who bent his ear about the serpents in the lake gobbling up all the fish, an exaggeration if there ever was one.
