Did she just run away?

"You don't mess with the O'Brien's and get away with it... not even when you have something on them... you stupidly went for them when you had nothing on them".

His boss said to him and walked away. Soon enough, reporter Kim took his personal belongings and left the company.

Jason did not like the fact that they were already trying to bring his woman down before she could even start living to her maximum potential.

He was determined to give her a life that had no stress or pain in it. He wanted her to live a life where she did not have to worry about anything. Although he knew that was almost impossible, he was ready to do the impossible for her.

The lady he was so determined to protect was lying down next to him and sleeping like a baby. She had no idea what had just happened and how her life was about to have a horror episode.

Before Nadia woke up, Jason made sure that all articles relating to what reporter Kim wrote had been taken down and the only one that could be found was the one showing that she was an amazing person.

It was soon evening and time for dinner. Nadia was still sleeping when a maid came into the room to wake her up.

"Young miss? You'll have to wake up".

The maid said calmly and almost in a whisper. She has served countless conglomerates and she knew for a fact that they could be very rude.

Nadia opened her eyes gently and blinked several times before finally adjusting to the light in the room.

I woke up after a nice and peaceful sleep and because I had slept so well, I stretched my body with a smile on my face. I wasn't able to stretch well because of my hand but I still felt happy.

I then remembered that someone had called me. I looked and saw a woman who looked like she was in her late thirties.

I sat up properly and bowed lightly. Soon enough, I was on my way downstairs when she informed me that dinner was ready.

When I got downstairs, everyone was already there. I looked at Jason and noticed there was an empty chair next to him. I was about to go sit next to him when I heard his mom speak.

"Come darling, come and sit next to me".

She said. I looked at her, and with a smile on my face, I quietly went to the seat she was offering me.

When I sat and was ready to start eating, I noticed someone kept looking at me so I raised my head from my food to see who it was and it turned out to be Grandpa.

He was looking at me so intensely, that I got so startled that I gasped and moved back a little. But there wasn't really anywhere to go as my chair was obstructing me.

"Why do you look so scared"?

Grandpa said and everyone stopped eating and looked at me.

"Uhh..."

I couldn't say anything so I sat properly and tried to eat again but I noticed he was still looking at me. I was very uncomfortable with the way he kept looking at me. I knew for a fact that if I ate like this, I'd definitely get indigestion.

I put my spoon down and gently stood up.

"Where are you going"?

He asked and I tried to fake a smile but it was very obvious that I was faking it.

"I think I have an unsettled stomach. I'll just go to the restroom".

I said and excused myself. I stayed in the restroom for a while hoping that when I came out, everybody would be done eating.

I finally washed my hands and left the restroom but they were still eating. I honestly thought I was gone for a long time.

"How is your stomach"?

Jason asked and I simply smiled.

I did not sit anymore, instead, I tried to excuse myself.

"I don't think I'm that hungry, I will just be in the room".

I said and began walking away when Grandpa spoke.

"Where do you think you are going"?

As soon as I heard him speak, I immediately paused in my tracks and slowly turned to look at him.

"Sit".

He said and instinctively, I closed my eyes before opening them again and going back to sit.

"What you did today was extremely risky".

He said but I didn't look at him instead, I had my head down. I could afford to look at him right now.

"It was brave, but also very risky and unwise. I never want you to put yourself in such a position ever again".

He said and I finally looked at him.

"Am I clear"?

He asked and I nodded several times. I could see a slight smile on his face and a big one appeared on mine.

"Now, let us eat".

Jason's dad looked at Grandpa and then at Nadia and then, he looked at Grandpa again. He could already tell that Grandpa had taken Nadia as his own. Not just as Jason's girlfriend, but as his own person.

He knew grandpa saw something in her and he also knew that his father was not usually wrong about things like this especially when it's not blood.

Thinking about it, he decided to give Nadia a chance. If his father sees something in her, it means she could possibly be of value.

And thinking about what she did today, he knew she was pretty brave and strong. He still liked the daughter of the prime minister but he would not mind giving Nadia a chance too.

Anita was taking a walk. She wanted to enjoy the fresh air before going back to the hotel. She was hopping and having fun when she suddenly heard someone yell her name.

"Anita!!"

He yelled making Anita turn back in fright.

"Oh gosh... you startled..."

As soon as she saw who it was, she paused.

"Dad"?

When she said that, her dad came down from the car he was in but before he could try to get closer, Anita took off. She ran as fast as her legs could take her.
